My take on social media
He doesn't respond to Nic, cause this boy is in contact with her every day in private message. As for who he is, he doesn't think he's not giving her enough praise or whatever. We only see a pretend social media persona with N and him. I don't know why fans are just 'well, it who they really are'
No. Social media with celebrities is a strategy, and Luke just doesn't care, why Nic clearly does lol
Sometimes socials are forgotten, when somebody is close to you and you send them messages every day lol it's the thing with the public birthday posts. Do you write congratulations to your besties on your page?
It doesn't look good for him, but I bet he's not even aware of that considering the way he's used the social media in the past. He forgets he's an actor, and he's inconsistent.
He is only consistent, when he sat down and talked about social norms and manners. People with ADHD sometimes struggle with being socially appropriate or thinking about other people's perspectives. And I can see it.
The man liked all A posts in Brazil cause she told him it's what bf do after they have googly eyes for his co-star, and I think Nick called him out later and pointed out that his participation is necessary. And now he gives his likes. Luke's a big man child. I don't say he's guilty, but it's the way he cant decide and think through his social media image for me is him being himself
I like you anon, thank you for sharing
Couldn't agree more with this perspective.

rules..... - m. estapa
details and warnings - grace hughes x mark estapa, brothers best friend
(this is all fiction!)
(Also sorry if this isn’t the best part I was kinda stuck on what to do in between pt.2 and pt.4 but I hope you like it)
part one part two
grace and Mark have done pretty well at hiding their relationship…well for the most part.
The first slip up
The freshies were all in Mark and Ethan's dorm hanging out. Grace was going to head over later but had homework to finish before she would come over.
“Dude why do you get pickles every time if you are just gonna take them off” Dylan questioned Mark.
“I'm saving them for Grace, she’ll want them when she gets here.” all three freshmen turn to look at Mark with a “wtf” expression on their faces.
“Why would you be saving them for Grace?” Ethan speaks up
“Yeah what's up with that?” Luke also questions Mark. uh.
“Because last time I got pickles and took them off she got mad at me cause I could have given them to her” technically this wasn’t a lie but he had started doing it because he knew how much she would appreciate it. All of them seemed to buy it. With almost perfect timing Grace knocks on the dorm door after finishing her assignments.
“Finally took you long enough,” Luke says as she walks in the door.
“Oh, I'm so sorry I value my education” she moves past luke bumping him a little to sit on the bed next to Mark. She whispers a small hello to him.
“Um I saved you these,” he says while handing her the napkin with pickles on it, he really did remember the small things.
“Aww thank you” she leans over and hugs him. The interaction is small and the pair thought it went unnoticed by the busy group too focused on their game but little did the two of them know Ethan was watching the whole thing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The second slip up
Tonight was a game night and Beck and Grace were doing what they normally did, switching between watching and talking about literally everything.
“So Beck now that my love life is not our main convo anymore what's up with you and Ethan?”
“I have no clue what you are talking about” she turns away from Grace blushing.
“I knew it! you do like him!”
“Ok maybe, but you are already being the most clique person ever by dating your brother's best friend, I thought it would be too cheesy to be the two besties dating the two besties, you know?”
“Oh my god no don’t let that get in the way, I would love that” before Beck could say anything the crowd started getting loud again, both of them look to see what they were expecting was a goal but when they looked on the ice all they saw was a fight up against the glass.
“Holy shit Mark undid someone's bubble,” Beck says to Grace.
“What the fuck?” sure Mark was Mark but this seemed different he was pissed like royally pissed.
Meanwhile, while Grace and Beck waited in the tunnel for their friends, Mark was getting questioned by his fellow teammates about why he lost his mind on the set of players.
“Mark, what the hell happened out there?” Luke questioned him.
“I- uh” Mark didn’t know what to say cause the truth was the player he had now forgotten anything about was chirping as one does but this time it was about Grace. It was kinda known amongst people that the team was like a bunch of older brothers to her and were pretty protective so she tended to be an easy target for shit talking. Now telling the truth wasn’t a bad thing cause who would be mad at the other person for defending their sibling, Mark was just so paranoid about Luke questioning why he got so mad.
“All I heard was Grace’s name and I look over and Marks on the dude so I’m assuming it had something to do with her” Nolan who had become a part of the fight spoke up.
“Wait that’s why the fight started?” Ethan quizzed Mark yet again.
“Yeah I don’t remember anything he said exactly now but he was talking bad about her and you know that's not cool I mean any of you would do it.” A string of “that's true” came out.
Again Mark thought pretty much everyone believed him but Ethan now officially had his eyebrow raised.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eddy and Mark were back in their dorm after the game sitting in an almost solid silence.
“So how long have you and Grace been dating?” oh fuck.
“I don’t know what you're talking about man”
“Ok bullshit don’t act like you haven't been all lovey and protective over her recently, sure you have always been but since you asked her to formal it has doubled, btw asking her was bold of you considering how Luke is. I'm surprised he hasn't put two and two together yet.”
“Is it really that obvious?”
“Well at least to me it is, no one else has said anything but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else has a hunch.”
“When did you figure it out”
“Well I was curious when you asked her out but when we were all hanging out in the dorms when she hugged you for a very long time is when I guessed you asked her out officially.”
“Jeez, you and beck are meant for each other,” Mark mumbles at Ethan.
“WHAT?”
“Oh nothing” Mark laughed.
“No, you tell me right now….”

Percy is fucking exhasted.
He was supposed to be back at camp four days ago. The deal was he’d spend weekdays at camp to plan and train and weekends at home to relax. But, he kept putting it off, opting to keep the weight on his chest that’d been pushing him down since last summer bearable, and not crushing the way it always was at camp. So, when he gets through the barrier, aside from nodding hello to Beckendorph and Silena, he makes a beeline to his cabin. He manages to keep his eyes down until he’s standing at his porch steps- and that when he sees her.
Annabeth is pacing on his balcony. She’s wearing jean shorts and her camp shirt, but instead of her typical ponytail her hair is in two intricate braids that reach her breastbone. She’s muttering to herself and wringing her hands together and for a moment Percy forgets. He forgets the past year and all the arguing and the bitterness and he sees Annabeth is worried about something and he reaches out as if to hold her. To wrap his arms around her and tell her that everything is going to be alright.
But then he remembers.
He retracts his hands.
He clears his throat and Annabeth startles. Her grey eyes are as intense as ever and he can almost see her defences come up. He hates that it's because of him. Annabeth is the first to break the silence.
“Hey.” Her voice is small but clear. Not yet vulnerable, but gives Percy the sense that it could be soon.
“What’re you doing here?” He isn’t sure he said it out loud until she ducks her head and flushes.
“Nobody’s seen you in days.” It’s not the accusation he expects. It's also not an answer to his question. Just an observation.
“I’m here now.” He says it like it’s an invitation. He then becomes incredibly aware that he's still looking up at her from the bottom of the steps, so he grabs his duffel, bounds up the stairs, and opens his cabin door. He hesitates and meets her eye with another silent question. She answers by stepping inside.
He drops his bag by his bed and turns on the light. The air is charged with unasked questions and unfinished conversations. He can’t stand it. He’s about to attempt small talk when she says something that nearly knocks down where he stands.
“I miss you.” She’s wringing her hands again and she won’t look him in the eye, but takes his silence as confusion.
“That’s what I came here to say, that I miss you.”
Percy isn’t sure what to say. Percy isn’t sure this conversation is really happening, she’s broken so many of the fragile rules they’d been following all year. He’s 98% sure this is a really vivid daydream to cope with…. well everything.
He decides that on the off chance this is real he should play it safe so, he states the obvious.
“I’m here. We’re here, together. We’re together and-” She cuts him off and begins to ramble.
“Strained and awkward and it's like there’s this chasm between us of all these things from last summer. From our kiss, to you dying, and then you not dying, and Rachel, and Luke, and Luke being Not-Luke, and it’s like we can’t have a conversation anymore and that sucks ‘cause..”
She pauses for the first time to look up at him and her eyes are shining.
“You’re kinda my best friend. And I miss you. Everything sucks and I'm tired of fighting. And I really miss you.”
Percy’s too shocked to say anything. It occurs to him that he should respond but he can’t find the words. All the unspoken rules they had in place and Annabeth had just steamrolled right through them. Percy realizes his mistake in staying silent as Annabeth flushes and turns to leave.
“Forget it, you’re a fucking asshole.” And oh no Annabeth had just swallowed her pride (which he knows better than anyone is no easy feat) to say everything he’d wanted to hear and he can’t let her walk away.
“I miss you too.” The words tumble out of him, clunky and a little awkward but earnest. Annabeth stops and faces him, eyes suspicious in the way that breaks his heart a little bit.
“Really?”
“Yeah. Really.”
Annabeth exhales and shoots him a tremulous smile he hasn’t seen in forever, and oh he’d forgotten what it did to his chest when she did. Before he does something stupid like tell her he thinks her smile is the best this he’s ever seen, he clears his throat.
“So…. this chasm you said, what do you propose we do about it?”
“24 hours. For 24 hours everything that I listed before is a non-issue. After that we can go back to…..whatever it is we’re doing now. One day, where we’re just two friends spending a day at camp together..”
“Best friends.” He corrects without thinking. She rolls her eyes, and he almost giggles because he’d missed her eyerolls too.
She holds out her hand to shake, all business-like and gods he missed her.
“Best friends. 24 hours.”
He takes her hand. Her shake is firm, her palms are warm, her eyes are bright, and she is beautiful.
“Where do we start?”
...
Apparently it starts with homework.
After he asked where they’d begin, Annabeth had flashed him a wicked grin, damn-near dragged him off the porch, and made a beeline to the Big House. Before last summer, Annabeth had been “tutoring” him. Once a week they’d head down to the Big House and spend hours combing through myths and legends, practicing Ancient Greek, and all things Demigod 101. It probably wasn’t ever that useful considering Percy barely remembered any of it, but Annabeth had always insisted. After last summer they’d non-verbally decided to take a break from it (eachother), and they’d never started back up.
Usually he’d halfheartedly complain that it was pointless and say some form of ‘I know enough to not die and that's good enough for me’ every five minutes, but today he nods dutifully along as Annabeth talks animatedly about Orpheus, and Theseus, and all the other -eus’s. He’ll ask a dumb question that they both know he knows the answer to, but she answers him anyway. He watches the wisps of hair that refused to be tied down, and counts the tiny sunspots across her nose and the way she wrinkles her eyebrow when she forgets a name.
It’s not terrible. It’s kinda the opposite. He’d forgotten that she made studying not terrible.
He’s so screwed.
...
The stables are almost empty when they get there.
After 2 hours of studying, (one hour of studying, one hour of laughing and talking and calling it studying) Annabeth declared it was his turn to pick the activity. Tired of sitting still Percy lands on tending to the pegasi. It was one of his favorite things about camp plus he got to teach Annabeth something for once. Annabeth was comfortable enough around them but she never spent anytime with them that she didn’t have to.
When they entered the barn, Blackjack gave him a look and he blushed remembering all the times he’d come to the stables with Beckendorph to vent about how much he missed Annabeth, (He didn’t even know horses could give looks but here we are) and silently told him it was a long story and to be cool. Annabeth had stopped next to one of the cleaning stations and was looking at him expectantly. He cleared his throat and they got to work. He showed her how to brush them and how to get tangles out of their manes, where to scritch them and where not to scratch them. He showed her how to check their feathers and make sure their wings were healthy and how to get them to be still enough to check.
Annabeth was excellent with them, gentle hands and kind eyes. Whenever she approached one she would look them in the eye and talk to them like the intelligent creatures they were. Each time she got started taking care of a new steed she’d gently reach for the muzzle and say in a soothing voice:
“Hi, my name is Annabeth and I'm going to groom you today. Don’t worry, I'm friends with Percy, and he taught me exactly how to take care of you. If I’m doing something wrong, let him know and he’ll tell me how to fix it. I promise I’ll do my best to make sure you feel like a brand new pegasus.”
Frankly, it was fucking adorable.
Pork-pie had taken a special liking to Annabeth, telepathically asking Percy if she could groom him more often. When he told this to Annabeth she’d beamed and enthusiastically agreed to come down whenever she could. Percy had off-handedly suggested that they take them out for a bit and Annabeth immediately started to release Pork-Pie from his stall.
They flew over camp for what could’ve been minutes or hours. He was lucky that Blackjack could fly himself because Percy couldn’t take his eyes off his flying partner. Her braids held firm, but a few rebellious curls were now whipping with the wind. The atmosphere combined with the speed they were flying, made her cheeks red and splotchy. Her smile is brighter than the sun, and eyes- gods her eyes were going to be the death of him. The sun and her mood (he had this theory that her eyes changed color based on her emotions) had made them almost blue, they are full of laughter, and Percy adores her. And when she directs her sunshine-smile at him, Percy can’t help but smile back.
(He doesn’t stop smiling until they land.)
...
As they're putting their pegusi back in their stalls, Blackjack decides to give him some advice.
“I know I don’t understand all of your fragile human emotions, but I know enough. There’s a lot of bad in this world of ours, and from what you’ve told me about this war business it's only gonna get worse. You gotta make the most of the good.” He tilts his head over to Annabeth who is cooing at a preening Pork-Pie.
“You and ladyboss, you’re good together. And really nothing else matters.”
He doesn’t have time to even think about a response when Annabeth is walking over from Pork-Pie’s stall, and telling him it's time for a picnic.
...
(“What did Blackjack say to you? You looked kinda flustered when I got you.” Percy almost drops the plate he’s piling with food from the buffet. He’s gotten three pointedly confused looks at the sight of him and Annabeth together and not strangling each other and a thumbs-up from Grover. He and Annabeth are getting their food and then they’ll go sit by the beach.
“Oh,” He clears his throat and goes with the first thing he thinks of. “Blackjack calls you ladyboss.” Good that's good, not technically a lie either.
“Huh. Weird.” Annabeth, seemingly satisfied with this, returns her attention to the grapes she is adding to her plate.)
...
“Where do you go?” Annabeth asks. She’s sitting next to him in the sand brushing crumbs off her fingers. They had been eating and watching the ocean in comfortable silence and Percy furrows his eyebrows in confusion. “Lots of days when you’re at camp for lunch and sometimes dinner you just disappear for hours. And I know you aren’t going home because your stuff is still in your cabin. Where do you go?”
It’s not an accusation, just a question. Percy gets the feeling she doesn’t want to know so she can disturb, she just worries. Percy knows her. He knows she’s always planning for the worst and she needs to be able to get to him if there's an emergency.
(It strikes him that she notices when he disappears and he feels guilty but also just a little hopeful. Because she misses him as much as he misses her.)
He stacks their plates and rests them on the blanket they’d been sharing. Percy stands up and holds out his hand, gesturing for Annabeth to do the same.
“C’mon, I’ll show you.”
...
He tells her to close her eyes. She gives him a skeptical look but obliges and holds out her hands, a silent request for him to guide her. It’s almost easier to take her hands in his without those trademark eyes on him. But it’s not any less intense. As soon as their fingers interlock sparks of electricity lick up his arm. Now that her eyes are closed he can look at her face up close without fear. Her curls had gotten more unruly as the day went on, and the ringlets that framed her face blew lightly in the ocean breeze. He leads her slowly towards the ocean, using his powers to dry any spot she walks on. He sees her brows furrow when she notices how far they’ve walked towards the ocean without their feet getting wet, but she doesn’t say anything. He parts the water for her to walk through, and when the water rises above their heads, he forms an air bubble that moves with them, keeping them dry. When they get to a good spot, squeezes her hand signaling for her to stop with him, but tells her to keep her eyes closed. Then he closes his eyes with her and calls out to the ocean's creatures, making himself a beacon.
Here I am, he thinks. The son of Poseidon.
Come to me.
Minutes pass.
“You can open your eyes now.” He whispers.
She does, and lets out a soft gasp, “Oh, Percy.”
He smiles and looks out at the scene before them. He’d come down here after a particularly bad day and just wanted to sit in silence. It was an accident, calling the creatures to him. Subconsciously, he must have sent a message along that he was feeling alone. And all sorts of sea creatures - from greek monsters and to great white sharks to your average cod had flocked to him. And he didn’t feel so alone. So now, whenever he couldn’t take the human world, he’d come down here and talk to the fish.
This time he’d actually concentrated on getting a message out and they did not disappoint. He couldn’t count all the animals that had heeded his call but it was a sight to behold. He had willed some glowing coral from the deeper ocean to stay in that spot, which created a multicolored tint to everything around them.
Normally they come right up close to him, but this time they were hesitant. And as he listened to the creatures and heard more than a few whispers of Athena and stranger, he’s suddenly reminded that she’s the only person he’s ever done this with. It’s his favorite place, and she is the only other person ever to see it.
“It's okay guys, she’s a friend.” He reassures them. When he looked back at Annabeth, her mouth was still hung open and she was staring out at the scene in front of them in wonder. He smiles at her dazed silence and uses the hand he’s still holding to tug her up to the barrier of the bubble. The first creature willing to accept Annabeth is a baby spotted dolphin. He swims towards the clumsily with eager fins and pokes at the barrier with it’s snout. Annabeth's eyes widen in fear and look up at him and it takes a second to realize she isn’t afraid of the animal, but of their bubble popping.
“Don’t worry, the bubble won’t break unless I break it myself, and it’ll last however long I want it to.” He reassures her. He senses her hesitation so he guides her hand up to meet the snout of the baby dolphin who seems fascinated with Annabeth herself. He reaches his snout and head bumps directly into the spot on the bubble where her palm is placed.
Annabeth lets out a laugh, the kind of laugh that sort of bubbles out of you without warning and it’s the best thing Percy’s ever heard. He watches as the shock fades for her features and she pets the infant creature through the sheen of bubble keeping them dry. The animals begin to warm up to Annabeth as well, and as soon as they figure out she’s not some evil Athena agent sent to destroy the ocean, they join in on the fun. Hundreds of ocean creatures of all sizes begin doing tricks, nuzzling up to the flexible barrier, all vying for Annabeth’s attention. Annabeth herself is happy to oblige. Ever consistent, she introduces herself to each creature she meets. She smiles and laughs and reaches out to all the animals she can. Percy is happy simply to watch her and keep the bubble up but then she turns to him, eyebrow drawn together in concern, pointing to a particularly awnry seahorse, and asks what it's saying.
“He says his name is Frank and that he’s ‘too pregnant for this shit.’”
Annabeth stares blankly.
“His words not mine.” Percy offers hands up in surrender.
Then she snorts and then they’re laughing, they’re laughing harder than they have in years, and it's that kind of hysterical laugh where everything around them makes it more funny, and soon Percy’s clutching his stomach and Annabeth is beet red. As soon as it subsides enough to get words out Annabeth is shaking his arm saying “Do that one! What's he saying? Oh my gods what even is that? Does that one like me? That ones majestic, what's his name? Oh Percy, look!! Look at that one!”
So he translates and they laugh and he teaches her different species and Annabeth nods along like it’s very important stuff. She pets the baby dolphin through the bubble and listens intently to all the animals telling her stories, even though she can’t understand a word until Percy tells her what they said. And when it’s time to go he sees the tears in her eyes and tells Percy to promise the baby that she’ll visit all the time, even though they both know she can’t.
(Apparently the baby dolphins name is Arnold, and according to his mother, he was so enthralled by Annabeth because when he first saw her he thought she was an angel.)
(Percy thinks he’s not too far off.)
...
(“That was incredible Percy. Thank you so much for sharing that with me.” They had been walking in silence as they made their way back to camp using the bubble, enjoying the afterglow of their adventure.
“Yeah, of course.” She smiles at him and looks ahead.
He’s not sure why he does it but without looking at her he reaches out and ever so carefully, and brushes her fingertips with his.
Her breath hitches, but she doesn’t say anything.
Then suddenly, miraculously, her hand tilts and their fingers are interlocked.
And there's no pretense of guiding her somewhere, they’re just….holding hands.
And it's perfect.)
...
Percy thinks if he’s not in love with her, he’s pretty damn close.
Because this feeling, the one he gets in his chest when he looks at her, is what love feels like.
...
When they resurface, they’re met with twinkling lights and the last three stragglers singing softly at the campfire. It’s almost time for lights out.
Oh.
Oh no.
Annabeth seems to be coming to the same realization, as she clears her throat and lets go of his hand. He misses her fingers immediately.
“So, I guess we should start heading to bed.” She looks at him, hopeful but he’s stuck. Stuck in the feeling of dread at the idea of waking up tomorrow and not having his best friend. Suddenly the idea of leaving her side is so unbearable he can’t speak.
“Goodnight, Percy.” She’s turning around and backing away when the words lodged in his throat come unstuck.
“8 in the morning.” She turns giving him a ‘what are you on about’ look.
“That when you came and got me at 8 in the morning. We agreed on 24 hours. It's only been 12.”
She smiles slow and wide, “You know you're right, that math checks out.”
“We had very clear terms. We even shook on it.”
“Yes we did.”, she nods gravely. “It’s a binding agreement, we can’t just ignore it.”
“So what do we do?”
She flashes a wicked grin. “You aren’t the only one with a secret spot.”
...
Percy arrives in the Big House 20 minutes after curfew was called, exactly as Annabeth had instructed. He felt her presence before she re-materialized in front of him and in a low conspiratorial whisper tells him to follow her.
They sneak down to the basement and Percy is confused when she keeps walking towards the corner. She lifts up a floorboard and starts climbing down a ladder. She beckons him to join her and when he makes it down the ladder, he can’t help the smile that breaks out. It’s a sort of underground attic, complete with a worn dusty couch, blankets and an old TV.
“I found it my first year at camp by accident. I was down doing chores and one of the broom strings got caught under it. I didn’t have many friends except for….” She lets him fill in the blank rather than say the name out loud. “And when he wanted to be with kids his own age, I’d come here. There's only five movies down here and I memorized them.” She looks down at her shoes. “I know it’s not the sea floor but..”
“Are you kidding? It’s awesome. What are the movies?”
They dig around and end up finding two more that apparently seven-year-old Annabeth did not think worth the time. They watch Die Hard first, (“Oh my Gods I can't believe you haven’t watched Die Hard. This is a travesty. It’s a classic Annabeth.”) then Pulp Fiction, ("I can’t believe it, all the shit you gave me for not seeing Die Hard, and you haven’t Pulp Fiction?? You absolute heathen!") and Clueless. ("What? It has to be full of violence and toxic masculinity to be good? It’s a good movie Percy, shut-up.") Before he knows it, it’s 3:54 am shaking with hysterical silent laugher at Annabeth's impression of Dionysus.
“Oh my gods oh-OH! Do you know what we’ve got to do?”
“Uh-oh, what?”
She grins impishly and a little deliriously. “We’ve gotta go to our spot.”
“Ah, of course. Yes, our spot, totally.” He says in a voice he hopes is neutral, in an effort to gage if she’s serious.
“Oh my gods.” She gasps, offended.
“What.”
“I can’t believe this.”
“You can’t believe what?”
“You forgot our spot.”
“I’m sorry Annabeth, until four seconds ago I wasn’t aware we had a spot.”
“Oh my gods. I can not believe this-” He can tell she’s messing with him, and not actually mad.
“Annabeth, just tell me where it is.”
“I simply can not believe this, you absolute heathen-”
“Stop calling me a heathen, and tell me where it is.”
She smiles, “I can show you.”
...
“Oh, of course! This is our spot!”
Annabeth chuckles, “I told you.” They’re standing at the edge of the forest at the tallest of the rock clusters to the far left. It's the one they used to go to after their first quest, the place where Annabeth taught him the constellations. The place where he made his first real friend. Not people he hung out with to avoid getting picked on. Not a searcher who happened to like the demigod he found. His first real best-friend.
They climbed up easily and lay down looking straight up at the sky. Annabeth points up at the floating memorials, and Percy dutifully recites the legends of how they earned their place in the sky. They're shoulder to shoulder and their fingers graze each other for longer than necessary. And slowly they lull into comfortable silence, arms overlapping, at some point Annabeth's head lands on his shoulder. Percy freezes for a while, staying absolutely still as if she’s a wild creature who could bolt at any moment. But then he relaxes, and she relaxes and he’s pretty sure she’s asleep until she takes in a shaky breath and whispers, “Hey, Percy?”
“Yeah?”
“We’re gonna be okay right?” He can tell she's trying to mask the vulnerability in her voice. And he can’t see all of her face from the angle they’re laying, but her nose is on his collarbone, and her hair is tickling his chin.
He closes his eyes, and he thinks. He thinks about Luke and Rachel and how nothings been the same since Percy blew up that mountain.
He thinks about seeing her for the first time, grey eyes wide hair falling off her shoulders and how even after everything he just went through, he felt safe. He thinks about ‘you drool when you sleep’, and the way she looked at him when he was claimed- awestruck and pitiful at the same time. He thinks about rolled eyes, stamped feet, and frustration always just under the surface. He thinks about silent truces, and letting guards down, and shared oreos in the back of a mobile zoo. He thinks about sweaty palms gripping each other in the Underworld, and shaky hands giving him a good luck camp necklace. He thinks about camp fires, stupid jokes, learning about the stars, and how the just fit.
He thinks about postcards and iris-messages, and how she punched Matt Sloane square on the nose. He thinks about how despite the arguing and the confusion about Tyson, she was always there when she needed him. How she didn’t hesitate to sneak out of camp with one of the first species he ever learned to truly fear, because he asked her to. He thinks about her in a dress and how tongue-tied him in guinea pig form. He thinks about her broken sobs and how she clutched at him in their underwater bubble. He thinks about winning a chariot race, the softest of cheek kisses and how in this world of gods and monsters, she’s the only thing he was really sure about.
He thinks about how she was the first girl he ever danced with, and how light everything felt when she was around. He thinks about how it felt strangely familiar when she fell off that cliff, and how only days later realized that it was the same desperation he had when Hades took his mother. He thinks about how gutted it was when he found out she was thinking about joining the Hunters. He thinks about his visit from Aphrodite and how even though she changed form, her hair smelled like lemons the entire time. He thinks about when he saw her on that cliff it was like the sun came out. How he saw her face and it was smudged with dirt and cuts but she was alive and he could breathe again. He thinks about how his throat closed up when he thought Artemis was going to pick her for the Hunt. He remembers how when they danced on Olympus, for a song she was prettier than Aphrodite.
He thinks about planning a movie date, and how he discovered Annabeth doesn’t get any less pretty when she’s mad at him. How she sat right next to him at dinner and how when she fixed his armour, his neck burned wherever she touched him. He thinks about falling in a whole and holding her hand and how they’d done it before but it felt different that time. He thinks about ping pong table meetings and how he became aware of the fact that he’d follow her anywhere. He thinks about the determination in her when she faced the Sphinx, and how the same fire was in them right before she kissed him. He thinks about how she tasted like smoke and salt, and how for the 3.2 seconds that his lips were hers, the first thing he thought was ‘we fit like this too’. He thought he was going to die but it was okay. It was okay that he was going to die, because he had gotten to kiss her. He thinks about Calypso’s Island, and how he dreamt about her every night. How when he crashed his funeral, she held like she couldn’t bear to let go and how that was fine with him. He thinks about the blur that was the labyrinth, full of unshed tears, words that cut, and how despite all the scream fights and the terror, and the barely contained rage, none of it lessened the fierce protectiveness he feels for her. How despite it all, she's still the best thing that's ever fucking happened to him. He thinks about the last line of her prophecy, and how she thought it was about him.
He loves her.
He’s not sure if he’s in love with her because he’s 15 and he hasn’t exactly had time to date around but he knows that for a fact. Knowing Annabeth, loving Annabeth has made him who he is. She is burned into his DNA. Somehow the 12 year old with princess curls and eyes that cut, crawled under his skin. He knows he’s done the same to her, even though they’re both too stubborn to say it out loud. They could never really leave each other, even if they tried.
So Percy shifts so he can see her face in the pale moonlight, brushes a curl out of her face and says,
“Yeah. It’s us Annabeth. We’re gonna be alright.”
She smiles soft and real because she knows him, so she knows he means it. He’s not sure who reaches out this time, but they're holding hands and staring at the sky in a silence that speaks volumes.
They stay like that until it’s sunrise and they have to sneak into their respective cabins. Looking at stars, fighting sleep, and forgetting about the rest of the world.
______________
(They hold hands all the way back to her cabin.)
(He doesn’t stop smiling the whole way back to his own.)

Okay I have so little time to write this week T_T but!
brainstorming/jotting down thoughts on what would happen if I dumped all the aros into the same room. I still need to come up with a premise because barely any of them are from the same universe.
Also, now I kinda want to make shitty valentines from each of them. you (general) know the shitposty ones i'm talking about. but i'm getting on a tangent here.
Xilthraxia & Gregory would immediately start causing problems. Someone is going to end up dead I am not joking. They would literally build an actual bomb, because between them they'd have the will, the idea, and the know-how. Hell maybe I'll write someone trying to set them up on a blind date and it somehow turns into them building a fucking bomb instead idk. This is why we can't have nice things.
Xylluna & Kairos: I think if you put these two in a room without anyone either of them knew, they'd. ehem. manage to locate each other. and not be seen the rest of the night. If I'm being honest with myself about it.
Xylluna: Probably put this little palentine's thing together in the first place, whatever it entails. At the very least, they made chocolate for everyone. (Sorry Luke.) If they see bomb club they get concerned simultaneously about 1. why this is happening but 2. why it's being made so inefficiently. If this happens I'm obligated to give their bestie Nero a cameo.
Firaga: wait hold on he's in the bomb club. if there was an explosive he'd be involved. He and gregory'd talk a ton about fireball because it's the best spell. something will burn down if they're left unattended. But he'd at least have the foresight to prevent club bomb from setting off said bomb indoors. get a nice blasting range somewhere if you're gonna do that.
All that said I haven't really decided on whether Firaga'd consider himself aro? I think he'd have considered himself aroace before... character whose name i've already forgotten. But honestly that was during a really confusing time for him (right after finding out the world was ending, and also after being killed+reincarnated), and so he could've easily misidentified "this is a person I can confide in right now" for "i'm attracted to this person." So for now I'm counting him.
On another note. Firaga LOVES chocolate and therefore loves valentine's day. But he will openly admit he just showed up for the chocolate.
Luke: Well. Man. There's a whole slew of options here. This is so situation-dependent. I'm going to assume he gets dropped in in hybrid form, since that's the most natural to him. So he'd probably be relieved that... half these people don't know what a werewolf is, or else they just don't seem to care? Also, these snacks are just... free? he can just have them? wild. He'd get along pretty well with everyone, honestly, although he'd be pretty shy about talking to anyone at first.
Wildclaw: "HOLY SHIT THERE IS A DRAGON MAN. THOSE EXIST? I AM A DRAGON TOO YOU JUST CAN'T TELL COME HERE." (Nah, that's the internal monologue but she knows how to be respectful.) Might end up in a drinking contest with Luke. Trying to understand what a bomb is at first (from a lower-magic/tech setting than bomb crew), then is trying to prevent the construction of said bomb.
Kairos: Very used to the whole valentine's thing, assuming that exists where he's from, but trying to just have innocent (ignore whatever's happening in the background) fun might be an interesting change of pace for him. That said ,he's going to be on-edge the entire time because parties, while he's very practiced at them, stress him out. At least he wasn't hired to assassinate anyone at this one.
It's valentines day and i feel like i should write SOMETHING but i can't think of anything honestly? I have all these ocs and none of them feel like particularly good subjects for it. Let's see we got for oc options:
Xiltharian/Moonlight: Rarely write for them. Their marriage was more because it was the normal thing to do than anything else.
Xilthraxia: lol. No.
Gregory: oh yeah. I haven't told you guys about Gregory. His one true love is being a bandit wizard.
Xylluna: aro
Firaga: asked one person out once. Got rejected. Has not thought about it again.
Kaz/Rikky: Already written about them a lot and I don't really feel like writing more angst right now. Actually though -- they're poly so maybe I can write something else with one (or both) of them? Or something short- term one of them had in the past? I'll have to think of other pairings do you think my fiance would mind if i just. Borrowed his character. For a little private thing for myself. Heehee. Still, though, doesn't solve the issue of having something to share.
Iyo/Eshrie: I have something in the works but I want it to be GOOD not rushed out for valentines. Also probably not something I'd share.
Luke: aro, maybe aroace, haven't decided, either way not a likely choice.
Wildclaw: aroace. Interested in dragons but not like your annoying bard friend is. (no wait for real did i actually do that by accident wtf)
Kairos: don't know him well enough yet, probably aro though. He's flirty but I can't see him in a scenario I'd want to write and share
Chrysalis: Idk I don't really write him, and I'm not sure I have interest in writing him, i like jotting down details but not writing scenes for him.
Maybe some fun AU with a bunch of them doing some kind of friends thing? Like galentines type thing. Which i have never done so idk what that looks like.
Or probably nothing! Just kinda thinking aloud here.
#ocposting#runic ramblings#i kinda wanted to include mycanthra but i don't know her well enough yet to know how she'd interact with everyone else#i need to actually sit down and play that game for a while before i work on her too much. keep her from ending up out of place

a/n: while i am working on ships and requests here is something from my drafts!
you met at a concert, not one where Sunset was playing just a concert you both went to enjoy
so you met, Luke actually bumped into you
poor guy kept apologizing for like half of the concert and you had to step in and offer him that all is forgotten if he buys you a drink (non alcoholic he is 17 (xd cuz 17 yolds don't drink))
he does buy you a drink and you start talking
it turns out that the two of you went to the same high school, I mean you still go there but Luke left school after he left his parents
he tells you about Sunset Curve (tell your friends), he even invites you to their next gig!
you are blown away by them and quickly became friends with the guys too
and your relationship kinda blossoms from there
he was super nervous about asking you out tho
so he wrote a song about you and had this plan to preform it on a concert while you were watching from the backstage
but before he could do that you pulled him aside to a quiet corner, just a few minutes before the beginning of the show and confessed your feelings for Luke
and Luke just pulled you in for a kiss because he believed that this was a dream and if he doesn't do it you'll just vanish
you of course did not vanish instead you kissed him back
"Luke we start in 5 minutes- oh…Oh! Finally you guys! Heck yeah!" interrupted Reggie
Luke slowly pulled away from you, his fingers gently brushing against yours
"Yeah, thanks Reginald. I'll be right there."
you chuckled at the bassist as he gave you a thumbs up before he sprinted to find the rest of the band so he could tell them what happened
Luke still plays the song he wrote to you that night and later he takes you to eat something(street dogs???) and you guys agree to make things official
you were already the bands no1 fan but now you're like cherry on top, sprinkle it with sugar no1 fan (idk were i was going with that)
you are always there at their shows and rehearsals too
helping Luke writing lyrics
well you mostly help him get distracted..but you know, the thought is what matters
he often sneaks into school for lunch breaks so you can eat together, you told him that he shouldn't but he is like 'what are they gonna do kick me out?'
lots of nights spent on the beach just talking or Luke playing on his guitar or walking around on the streets, passing by all the clubs as he promises to play in all of them
"just send me a postcard when you go on an European tour." you laughed at one of those night whete he painted their bright future as a band
"oh,no. I will not, why would I? You will be sitting next to me on the tour bus."
"yeah, sure Luke."
"No, I'm serious. You are just as part of the band as me or the others. Without your support I wouldn't have wrote those killer songs. You inspired me. So when we go touring you are definitely not staying here."
Luke hangs a lot at your place since he doesn't go home
about home…you try to convince him to talk to his parents
music store dates!
he loves it when you steal one of his hoodies or shirts
proudly wearing a Sunset Curve shirt to school
"Tell your friends."
i already said being friends with the boys but being besties with Alex (because i love him, ok?)
and Luke just adores how passionate you are about the band, you always here to help them if they are stuck with a song or anything, and seeing you being so close to his best mates just makes him love you more
he love touching you, playing with your hair, the hem of your shirt, drumming on your arms and fingers
lots of cuddles
hugs from the behind
one time you caught him cutting off the sleeves of his shirts and jumpers
he looked a deer caught in the headlights
( big Andy Biersack vibez)
"Luke, as your girl/boyfriend I would appreciate if you left some shirts for me to steal from you. thanks, bye"
"These guns need their space!" he gestures to his biceps.
leaving small cute sticky notes on his guitars every now and then
he starts to leave some poetry for you in your school stuff in return
you once left one poetry written about your smile in your math textbook and your teacher found it..
"It is really flattering Mx YN but I would like to ask you to focus on the task."
Luke couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes after you told him
going to the movies to make out
and by going i mean sneaking in
you wear one of his guitar picks laced on a chain around your neck
he gave it you after you spent a night at the beach, he played on his acoustic, sang to you, than you guys talked and stayed up to watch sunrise together

congrats beau!!!! how aboutttt willex 🌵 🎢 and 🎁
Ngl bestie, these emojis were *hard* to work with, but I had a lot of fun figuring out how I could manage it!
Without further ado (and with much apology for the wait) please enjoy:
Miniatures
(avaliable on ao3 here !)
Willie had developed a unique interest since being liberated from Caleb's clutches.
'Why's he so into this stuff, anyway?' Reggie had asked once, not unkindly, sat upside-down on the studio couch in the early afternoon, his quasi-bouffon of hair just brushing against the concrete floor.
'I don't really know, but I think it's cute,' Alex had responded, feeling a small, involuntary smile creep its way onto his face as he paced lightly around the coffee table, more for the feeling of movement than anything else. 'It might be about control?'
'Oh,' Reggie had said in return, the implications of that last comment obviously stunning him a little. It had stunned Alex too, more than a little, when he'd first considered it. He recalled how he stuck close to him that day.
But the reasons for Willie's new hobby didn't particularly matter in the current moment, as Alex stood bewildered in the miniatures aisle of a local, independently-owned toy store, staring down a model steam train, trying to remember if Willie already had it, or if he even liked trains, for that matter.
Alex gave a quick glance down to the crumpled bills in his hand: fifteen bucks, earned painstakingly by doing chores in the Molina house. He reckoned Ray must've sometimes felt like a regular Arthur Weasley when all four of them got to work: Luke emptying the dishwasher, Reggie folding the laundry, Alex cleaning out the oven and Willie watering the plants, all of them still invisible to the poor guy. It was easier money than they'd ever made busking down on the pier, and that meant that Alex wasn't so worried about splurging on tiny plastic replicas of mundane things just because he loved his boyfriend.
How to divvy up the pocket money was the burning question. An easy solution would be to laden his arms with miniature people, some holding shopping bags, some walking dogs, others hand in hand, and walk out of the store with thirty of them, but he'd observed Willie with his collection, meaning he'd noticed that Willie didn't really lean into the interpersonal drama side of owning a simulated town. No, he was much more fond of setting up complex locales and vistas and taking full advantage of their limited movement, like when he'd gently spin his prize piece, a miniature ferris wheel with bunting around the cars, around, or simulate parallel parking with the three model cars he had, making them do three-point turns as they saddled up beside a sidewalk he'd indicated with some of Julie's washi tape. It meant that Alex could safely narrow his search to just one half of the aisle, ignoring all of the strangely domestic content, and focus on the more interesting set pieces.
Despite his now limited parameters, Alex could still feel his eyes turning square as he stared almost listlessly at the shelves, occasionally scrubbing at his face as though that might suddenly bestow him with an idea. Needless to say, it didn't.
Until it did.
'Why do my eyes have to be closed?' Willie giggled, stumbling a little when the two of them crossed the threshold into the studio and there were no familiar, large, white doors in the way, even though Alex had been guiding him the whole way to the garage, their hands tightly clasped together.
'Oh, y'know, just 'cause,' Alex reasoned pointlessly, not trying to hide in the slightest that there was a surprise in store.
Once the two of them were stood still in the middle of the room, Alex covering Willie's eyes from behind, he began to explain, 'So I was thinking about your miniature village today-' It hadn't just been today, and he hadn't just been thinking about it, but all would be revealed to Willie in due time.
'Babe, it's a city now, get with the program,' Willie replied jokingly, giggling again. 'We have a little miniature cathedral and everything!'
'Oh, that's a cathedral? Not a minster?' Willie's silence in response to the question was enough to almost make Alex's hands slip as he burst into quiet laughter. 'Ok, it's a cathedral,' he resigned, the statement barely managing to get out past his laughter, Alex practically able to feel how Willie's smile broke out from where it rested not an inch below his hands.
'Anyway,' Alex began again, 'I'd been thinking about your miniature city today, and I remembered how you mentioned your county fair set-up still felt like it was missing something-' This memory had only been conjured when Alex had slav-squatted in the aisle, hands furiously toussling his own hair, certainly a crazed glint to his eyes, but again, all in due time- 'so I got a couple things that I thought might fill in the gaps.' He removed his hands from Willie's face, and moved gently but quickly around so that he could catch his reaction from the side.
Willie looked dazedly around for a moment or two and then, seemingly remembering the typical size of one of his miniatures, cast his eyes down to the coffee table and locked onto the intended items: a rather impressive miniature rollercoaster, and several miniature cacti, organised so that the loop-de-loop backed onto a copse of the cacti.
'Is this a gift?' were the first words from Willie's mouth, his tone quite dumbfounded.
'...Yeah?' Alex answered, suddenly afraid he'd made a misstep.
Looking almost stricken, Willie made eye contact with Alex. 'Have I forgotten a holiday?'
Alex couldn't hold in the sudden bark of laughter that erupted from him. Relieved, he responded, 'No, I just bought them because I wanted to give you something.'
'Oh.' Willie seemed to contemplate this for a moment, and Alex watched a light smile sneak its way up his face. But then his eyebrows furrowed and he locked eyes with Alex once more. 'Wait, you paid for these?'

find the strength, find the melody pt. 7
lmfao I love how I posted an update 2 days ago like “this fic will have sporadic posts! idk when they’re coming!” and then I spent the last two days writing this. when that insomnia inspiration hits ya gotta just go with it!
this chapter went in a completely different direction than I had planned on soooo yeah...honestly not sure where this is gonna end up! the characters from my OC novel that I’m loosely basing this story around didn’t have a connection before they ran into each other so when Julie gave me this I almost cut it because I genuinely wasn’t sure where it was going. I think I’ve almost figured it out and I’m pretty sure I know how this will end. and now we all get to laugh at me together because it’s definitely gonna be more than 3-4 chapters. it might even be more than 6. Luke’s POV will have roughly the same amount of chapters I think, possibly longer because boy oh boy does he have A LOT to say (most of it about Julie). fair warning: this one has an awkward cut off because of the way I need to set up the next chapter. sorry about that.
and now something I probably should be embarrassed to admit: I don’t remember writing the part where I managed to sneak an “I’ve Got The Music” reference in so now we know for sure this show has infiltrated my brain. it’s fine, I’m fine, at least I WILL BE WHEN WE GET A S2!!!! KENNY!!!! SAVE ME HERE!!! MAKE MY UNHINGED OBSESSIONS WORTH IT!!!!!
taglist: @blue-hat-girl, @lwhoscribbles, @bluefyoto94, @5sosmukefan, @moonlightxnder, @leahthewonder, @kat-maybe-not, @lukewearingbeanies, @imastrugglingartist
It was no small miracle that Julie made it through the afternoon without Ray asking for details about her supposed ‘plan’ to play with the Sunset Curve boys. She didn’t think she would have been able to pull off spinning a story quite as well as Luke had earlier. She had expected at least a small amount of interrogating about when she had started playing again, but apparently the news that she was playing at all, let alone with other people in front of an audience, was enough for Ray to ignore all of the other plot holes involved in this scheme. He seemed to have almost forgotten the meeting with Principal Lessa entirely, humming on the drive home, kissing her forehead and turning her loose to freak out alone in her room while he sat down to work on his computer in the dining room. Julie took full advantage of the time alone to restlessly pace her room and send Flynn a 911 text. Her bestie’s contact photo lit up the phone screen 30 seconds later.
“Okay, I’m hiding in the basement girl’s bathroom, so you’ve got exactly 5 minutes before I get too grossed out to stay here.”
Julie’s chest loosened at the sound of Flynn’s comforting voice. There wasn’t anyone else in the world that loved her the way Flynn did. It was reassuring and made it easy for Julie to let loose.
“Lessa told Dad about the music program and then You-Know-Who ambushed us outside of her office and basically forced me to agree to perform with them.”
“Voldemort was at Los Feliz?!”
Flynn’s gasp was overflowing with sarcasm.
“Flynn!” Julie whined. “Be serious! Luke showed up out of nowhere again! And he did the thing again! The charming his way into getting what he wants thing! And now I have to play with his freaking band! What the hell am I supposed to do?”
There was silence for a moment. When Flynn spoke again her voice was softer, more serious.
“You don’t have to play with them, Jules. You can tell them no, and they’ll have no choice but to respect that. The only person who can make you do anything is you. But...I kinda think you might want to play with them.”
“What?! No!”
Julie’s exclamation was a second late. Flynn didn’t say anything. She didn’t need to. Julie sighed.
“Okay fine. There’s something about Luke that makes me want to play again. Are you happy? He gave mom’s song back to me when I thought it was lost forever. He’s the only person who’s heard me perform it, and he...no one else has ever made me feel that good about my music before.”
Julie thanked her lucky stars Flynn wasn’t in the room to see her blush. There was a long moment of contemplative silence on the other end of the line. When she spoke again, there was that extra note of take-no-shit in Flynn’s voice that made Julie sit up and really listen.
“I think you should give it a chance. Who knows, maybe this is some sort of sign from your mom. You said it was a miracle he would have even found that song in the first place. You said it felt like she was there with you when you were playing. Maybe she made sure it would find its way back to you when you were ready for it.”
Julie didn’t say anything, just worried her bottom lip with her teeth. Her heart beat a little faster in her chest. It had felt a little too perfect to be just a coincidence. The way Luke kept appearing in her life at the exact moments she needed him someone or something to help her keep moving forward. Flynn sighed.
“Look, I’m not saying it is your mom. But I’m not saying there’s not some kind of greater power out there that keeps pushing the two of you together. I think you should give it a chance. If nothing else, you can get back in the music program and we can bring Double Trouble to life in time for our Junior Showcase!”
Julie couldn’t help laughing. Her eyes felt misty, love for her best friend welling up in her heart.
“I never agreed to that name you know. But thanks, Flynn. I’ll think about it.”
“Good. Now. I gotta get the fuck out of this grimy ass bathroom. Love you, bye!”
Flynn waited for her to return the sentiment before hanging up. Julie flopped back on her bed, letting her breath out in a loud whoosh as she hit the comforter. A glance at her phone told her she only had a couple hours until Luke and the other boys would be out of school and on their way to her house. She tried her best to ignore the way that thought made her stomach roll with a type of nervousness she would rather not name. It was easier to blame it on nerves over playing with new people rather than nerves over playing with Luke. Except...now that she actually thought about it, she had played with Luke before. Her head spun, eyes fluttering shut as she remembered the one music class she had shared with Luke last year.
She had only been a freshman, stuck in a lowly Introduction to Composition class. It was supposed to be for new songwriters. Julie had a little more experience than the rest of the class, after all she’d been kind of composing with her mom for a few years now, so when it had been time to write a duet for their final big project she had gotten paired up with the classmate whose skill level most matched hers. It was supposed to be a way for them to challenge each other and grow as writers instead of one person doing most of the work. Julie had been paired with Luke.
He’d been a grumbly sophomore, held back for failing his last semester of Intro to Comp the year before. He had been stuck there only for the second semester, forced to double up between their class and his second year Composition class. Julie hadn’t been all that excited about partnering with him. He hadn’t really seemed to care about the class at all, and even though Julie also sometimes felt like it was holding her back a little bit, she never once voiced that thought. It was a privileged mindset, and Julie was well aware that she had an advantage over her classmates since her mother was a professional songwriter. Luke, on the other hand, had made it well known that he felt like he was wasting his time just waiting to get through the semester so he could move up to the Advanced Composition class that he felt he truly belonged in. Julie could usually do no more than roll her eyes in those moments.
It was true that Luke was talented. His guitar playing was impressive, his lyrics were heartfelt and sometimes even downright poetic. Julie just didn’t think anyone deserved specific things in life because they happened to be naturally talented at something. Their songwriting experience had been...interesting to say the least. And short. It had ended abruptly when Julie’s mother had died 5 days later. In the end, they’d only worked together for two 40-minute class periods before she had been lost in the fog of grief that consumed her in the weeks following the loss of her mom.
Julie shot up in bed, eyes wide. She didn’t even fully remember what had happened with the half-finished song they had been working on. Errant notes echoed in her head, like a song that had only existed in dreams until now. She absently wondered if Luke had held onto that as well. It was no wonder she had kept that particular memory suppressed all this time. That time in her life had been particularly painful. Luke had been gentle with her though. Almost all traces of his typical arrogance gone in the two short class periods they’d had to work together. He had kept things light, steering their songwriting in the direction of a rock ballad more than a true duet. Julie hadn’t minded. She had been floating through classes by then anyway, on edge every second she was away from her mom’s bedside. It had been easier to work on something that didn’t have as many sappy emotions attached to it.
She groaned, burying her face in her hands. No wonder Luke had been so sweet with her. He must have had a front row seat to her breakdown throughout the last year. She hadn’t even realized it. Had never before seen the way he watched her from a distance, checked in on her during class. She should have. Now that she was thinking about it, trying to identify every instance, she could name a million. How had she missed it for so long? How had he gone so long without saying anything? The Luke she remembered was terrible at keeping his mouth shut. He had always been ready to speak his mind, never afraid to start a discourse. It didn’t track that he had been holding himself back. Unless...it was more about her musical ability than anything else. She remembered now; Luke had been thrilled to partner with her for the duet. He had made some remark about how her sound was the perfect complement to his. Maybe he only cared about the ways they would mesh as songwriters. She could only hope that’s what his words had meant.
She felt more secure in her footing as a musician when it came to dealing with Luke than she ever had as a simple teenaged girl. If it was just about the music she could compartmentalize better, keep herself from getting too emotionally invested. Music had always been a safe zone, neutral. She breathed in and out deeply, remembering the technique Dr. Turner had taught her to slow her breathing and recenter her mind. She could do this. It was just about the music. They would play a song together, Julie would get back into the music program, and life would move forward much in the way it had before. Except Julie would actually participate in class this time. She had the music back in her soul, she wasn’t ever going to let it go again. On her next exhale, she heard the doorbell ring. Showtime. Julie zipped down the stairs, ripping open the door before her dad had a chance to get more than three feet away from his computer. Luke, Alex and Reggie all stumbled back a step as she tumbled outside, pulling the front door shut behind her. The three teenaged boys shared a look.
“Studio. Now.”
Julie raced down the path to her mom’s studio before they could react, not even waiting to see if they followed her. If they were smart, if they truly wanted to do this, they would. She hauled the garage doors open, only turning around when she had the piano at her back. The wood felt warm and solid, almost like she had her mom as a support behind her instead of an instrument. The boys appeared seconds later, Luke leading the way. He stopped a couple feet inside of the studio, studying her with wide open earnest eyes. She let out a deep breath. Reggie spoke up before she could get a word out.
“Woah, Julie, this studio is so cool! It’s like a tiny home! A musical tiny home in a botanical garden!!”
His green eyes were wide, expression awed as he spun to take in the space that Julie and her mom had spent countless hours turning into theirs.
“How did you get chairs on the ceiling?! Are you, like, a witch and a siren?!! Man, you and your mom must have made some serious magic in here.”
Luke’s arm shot out faster than lightening to backhand Reggie’s bicep. Reggie cringed away, a soft owww! just barely audible over the loud sigh Alex let out as he buried his face in his hands. Reggie shrugged, looking back and forth between his bandmates before giving Julie a confused yet apologetic glance. What had he said wrong this time? The giggle that bubbled out of her was as unexpected as it was welcomed. Warmth blazed in her heart, memories of the time she had spent in here with her mom washing over her with a kind of hazy bliss she hadn’t ever experienced before. She gazed at Reggie, letting that same feeling of motherly love from the night before fill her up. It was all she could do not to react to Luke’s jaw dropping when she gave Reggie a soft smile.
“We did. We made so much magic in here.”
The words were gentle and filled with a kind of genuine love that overshadowed all other feelings of awkward nervousness. Alex and Luke relaxed instantly, Reggie’s face losing all traces of uncertainty as he beamed at her with a smile so large it almost looked painful. Julie couldn’t help but let herself return it, just a little bit. The silence that settled between them was more comfortable, the tense moment from earlier broken. Julie studied the boys in front of her. She hadn’t ever thought of them as friends per se. They knew each other, would say hi if they encountered one another outside the walls of the high school, but at the same time, they didn’t actually know each other. Julie’s little run in with Luke the night before had made that painfully obvious. She wasn’t really sure what to make of them.
“Are you guys actually serious about this whole Showcase scheme? Did Luke even tell you about his dumb plan?”
“Hey! That plan is genius. Even your dad agreed. He seems pretty cool.”
Julie couldn’t help the fond way she rolled her eyes. Alex was quick to reassure her that they did, in fact, know about the plan.
“Not that I actually think it’s a particularly well thought out plan.” He stated with a lingering glare at Luke’s back.
The planner in question did his best to ignore the skeptical look on Julie’s face.
“Julie, you really don’t deserve to be out of the music program.” Reggie’s voice was soft and sincere. “You have the voice of an angel. If we can help convinced Ms. Harrison and Principal Lessa to give you your spot back it will be so worth it. And even if we don’t, it’ll be worth the looks on their faces when we rock the pants off that crowd!”
Julie laughed in spite of herself, slightly reassured even as she chewed nervously on her lip. Luke took a few bouncy steps forward, pulling her attention to him completely. His eyes locked on hers and she was sure she was drowning, throat tightening at the look he was giving her.
“You got this. I wouldn’t have come up with this idea if I didn’t believe it 100%.”
Honestly, that was what scared her the most about it.
“We don’t even have anything prepared.”
Her voice was barely a whisper, unsteady and wavering. Luke took a few more steps towards her, Reggie and Alex ghosting along silently a few feet behind him. Julie didn’t even notice, so laser focused on the brunette boy in the cut-up tank top in front of her. She watched his muscles flex as he reached into his back pocket, flicking out a piece of folded up paper in a move scarily reminiscent of when he had given her mom’s song back to her. He bit his lip, head ducking a little to be closer to hers as he unfolded the worn sheets of scrappy notebook paper. She let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding, focusing on the messy handwriting in front of her.
“I thought you would say that.”
The smile on his face was so soft and sweet it should have been illegal.
“It’s called ‘Bright’. It’s a Sunset Curve song that we never performed because it’s missing something. Look,” his bare shoulder brushed hers as he shifted to point at the notes, warmth seeping through the thin material of her t-shirt, “it’s perfect for your range. I was thinking, if we add a little bit of piano here and here,” fire blazed a path up her arm as his fingers traced along the opening notes and chorus, forearm flexing against her own, bare skin brushing in teasing licks, “it’ll be perfect.”
Julie forced herself to focus on what he was saying, eyes roving across the paper. She hummed a little under her breath, hearing what he described in her head. His eyes lit up when he saw her get it, feet springing up and down as he dipped even closer towards her and started to sing.
We will rise, through the night
You and I
We will fight to shine together
Bright forever
His voice vibrated in her chest, the sound filling her with an emotion she couldn’t fully identify. Alex and Reggie bobbed along behind him, Reggie’s fingers plucking out the baseline on an invisible guitar while Alex nodded along to an unseen beat. Julie could envision the way the song would sound with a complete band, could practically see herself fitting seamlessly into the mix with her piano and vocals. She couldn’t help the smile that curved her lips as she joined in, reading the lyrics off of the page.
And rise through the night,
You and I
We will fight to shine together
“Go up high.”
Luke cut in, fingers twirling towards the ceiling. Julie automatically made the adjustment in notes to harmonize her voice with his for the last line, holding the final syllable for a beat longer than him.
Bright forever
“Yes!”
Luke’s arm pumped up and down, bicep flexing and distracting Julie momentarily. She dropped her head shyly, trying to hide her blush. When her cheeks cooled a moment later she looked back up at the boy in front of her. His eyes were glowing, smile stretched a mile wide as he stared at her. Unconditional belief in her was practically oozing from his pores. She felt her face soften as their eyes locked, giving him her own sweet smile that was meant just for the two of them. She thanked him with a gentle murmur, heart melting as he simply bit his lower lip and nodded.
A throat cleared in the background, and Julie was snapped out of their private bubble by the sound. Her entire face felt engulfed in flames as she looked over Luke’s shoulder to see Alex and Reggie still standing a few paces behind him. Reggie’s face was bright, his sunshine temperament back in full force. Alex was a little more guarded, but he was giving her an encouraging smile and there was cautious optimism swimming in his sage green eyes as he fiddled with one of his drumsticks. She inhaled deeply and let her breath out in one smooth exhale. The same sort of peacefulness from the night before settled over her.
“Okay. Okay, so we’re doing this.”
Luke’s whoop was so loud both her and Alex jumped. Reggie raced forward with a cheer to sling one arm around Luke’s shoulders and the other around Julie’s, pulling them so close to his chest that their noses nearly touched. Julie saw the blush staining Luke’s cheeks and felt her own warm to match. Alex coughed again.
“Reg, c’mon. Let it settle for just a sec before you go all human octopus on the poor girl.”
“Oh, right! Sorry, Jules!!”
Reggie released both of them quickly. Julie flicked her gaze between the three boys, enjoying the glimpses at their band dynamic. Alex’s words had sounded a bit exasperated, but there was a fondness running through them as well. He gave a half-hearted roll of his eyes at Reggie’s abrupt movements and reached his own long arm out to pull the dark-haired boy close.
“Help me unload the van? I still don’t trust our little Lukey boy with my kit.”
“Hey! That was one time!”
Luke sounded downright offended. The dark look Alex leveled at him in response had Julie choking back a laugh with a badly disguised cough. Clearly once of whatever he did was enough. Luke pouted, arms flexing as they crossed over his chest.
“You put your foot through my bass drum, and you think that isn’t reason enough not to trust you with it ever again?”
Luke sputtered, eyes flicking to Julie and back to Alex as his ears reddened.
“I told you I didn’t see it!”
“It’s the biggest part of the kit, dumbass. Literally the hardest thing to miss.”
Alex’s voice was as unimpressed as it was dismissive. Luke threw his hands in the air as the other boys headed out of the studio, laughing amongst themselves. It was clear this was a regular argument between the two, no heat or anger left in it, only a loving sort of tease. Like the way Carlos still brought up that time she accidentally gave him a concussion double-bouncing him off of their neighbor’s trampoline when he wanted something from her. Or the way her Tía would still laugh as she remembered the time her mom had almost gotten them both arrested for a bar fight on her 21st birthday, Ray affectionately filling in the parts that she tried to leave out. Warmth bloomed in her chest. This wasn’t just a band, wasn’t just a ragtag trio of friends. These guys were brothers. This was a family. And they were letting her into that intimate circle.
The thought was both humbling and nerve-wracking. This Showcase was a big deal. It wasn’t just some school assignment. This could impact their future as a band career-wise. They were all trusting her with this, fully believing in her, or at least, fully believing in Luke’s faith in her abilities. She wasn’t sure anyone had ever believed in her like that. Not anyone that hadn’t known her since she was in diapers. Her head swam, knees feeling a bit weak. She stumbled her way over to the couch, collapsing onto it with a barely audible huff. Luke was in front of her instantly, crouched down so they were face to face. His hands twitched in his lap, but he didn’t reach for her.
“Hey. Julie. Breathe.”
She sucked in a breath, zeroing in on nothing more than his face. After a few seconds she realized he was breathing in and out slowly, just loud enough for her to hear over the jumble of thoughts running amok in her brain. She matched her own inhales and exhales to his, the room slowly coming back into focus as her head cleared. He gave her one of those soft smiles she was starting to think of as hers.
“We don’t have to do this if you don’t want to. But I wouldn’t have stopped you in school if I didn’t think you were gonna rock it. I heard you last night. I listened to you for years before last night.”
His chin dropped in embarrassment for just a second before he pulled his gaze back up to hers. Julie felt like she was on the edge of a cliff. Not for the first time she wished she knew how long this version of Luke had been lurking under the surface. It took everything in her not to let herself step off that ledge and fall.
“Music is in your soul. It’s a part of you. Not everyone is like that, but you are. Your life without music...”
He tapered off like the thought was physically painful to him, eyebrows furrowing in a slight wince.
“Living without music would be like living in a world without stars: dark and empty and uninspired. You deserve galaxies, Julie. You deserve the chance to shine exactly like the star you are, and the world deserves the chance to hear you. Please, just...have a little faith?”
She saw it then. As he gazed at her with those bottomless ocean eyes, with that special smile on his lips and sincerity bleeding through every word, she knew. Luke was like her. Luke got it. In a way that no one else except her mom ever had. That’s what this was. They were kindred spirits, two sides of the same coin. And that feeling? The wind rushing through her hair and stealing her breath away while her limbs all turned to jelly feeling? That was definitely her falling head over heels off of the cliff and into Luke Patterson completely.
“Okay.”
She breathed out, and his answering smile set off the butterflies she thought had finally left her stomach. He stood up and held a hand out to her, easily pulling her to her feet in one smooth movement.
“You know,” his smile turned rueful, “eventually you’re gonna have to answer one of my questions with something other than ‘okay’. That’s a pretty passive word, and I’m not really a passive type of person. I wanna start hearing some ‘hell yeah’s and ‘awesome’s pretty soon.”
Julie rolled her eyes, moving away from Luke to set up her keyboard. He gave her a bouncy little shrug of his shoulders, and she let the levity of his joke wash over her, releasing the last bit of nerves. She could do this. Luke believed in her. Her mom believed in her. Hell, Alex and Reggie believed in her and she barely even knew them. She could do this, just like her mom had said.
Noise from the other boys making their way up the driveway had her rushing to pull both doors to the studio open so they could haul in Alex’s drum kit. The three of them left together to grab amps and guitars, Julie finishing the rest of the set up in the garage. Before she had time to overthink things or freak out again, they were all settled into their spots and Alex was counting down for their first run through. Fingers against the keys, Julie breathed out, opened her mouth, and began to play.

Ep 15
whats with everyone in the intro and musical instruments? and aizawa being sad in a feild, before he was just sitting there now he's holding something
I don't think it's expanded on in the anime, but in the manga, it's explained. Aizawa bought that for Eri, but the nurses thought that it was ugly and gave it back to him.
Ep 16
*endeavour and almighty are next to eachother" some guy: are you guys seeing.. me: each other? guy:this! anyway, new ship just dropped endevor/almight (300+ ao3 works)
Yeah, that one isn't new. It's better than some of the other ships in the fandom though.
"my name is not 5 weenies" i could never say that with a straight face
It gets better
Ep 17
frenchboy feeding midoriya is so funny
Aoyama is such an oddball
WAIT IS FRENCHBOY THE TRAITOR
There's a new suspect every time I read one of these. I'm waiting for you to round back to Nezu.
so all that was to make them friends? weird but OK
Midoriya 🤝 Aoyama 🤝 Eri Not being able to control their Quirks and it hurting their self esteem.
the "normal school stuff!" though
Poor kids get so excited over normality nowadays compared to how they reacted after the USJ.
todoroki doesn't know what a concert is
Look, I'm glad Endeavour is changing. But for Todoroki to have never even heard of a concert is just concerning. I've never been to one, but I know what it is! How sheltered was he?!
i love Eri, she's adorable.
Cutest. I smile every time she's on screen.
ERI DOESNT KNOW SMILING, WHAT
I also cry every time she's on screen.
new ship: eri/miriyo (cackling and dying while writing, i hate the fact i thought of it but eri litterally asked if they were going on a date, i do not codone shipping this, i think they have brother/sister type thing)
I was fully ready to stop being friends with you over this. There is legitimate fanart of Eri/Deku and- ajhskjfkfhgkf
nezu has done exactly one good thing, which is letting eri come
Nezu probably relates to Eri a little.
shes ugly, i dont like her eyelashs, and hair, and the rest of her.
My reaction as well tbh.
ERI SMILE, AJFHDJWNSDNM (i would die for her)
Skipping over the other episode because less to comment on but yes, die for Eri, live for Eri, give your soul to the child.
that performance is so cool
Hero Too has been stuck in my head for ages.
"romeo, the ghost of azkaban" GANDALF TOO "i am your true father" (luke, i am your father) Ah, yes, so original
Sometimes I forget that MHA is set in the future where Harry Potter, Shakespeare, Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings have been nearly forgotten. Good thing All For One wasn't there because he would have understood what a monstrosity it was.
why is bakugo melting the ice? what happened to todoroki?
There's a lot of ice
kirashima and steel-guy seem like they'd be besties
They are besties. 334 dedicated to their ship.
ERI'S LIVING IN UA AOIDHSQKWDHNSBXJKOQANXFDSCS
MHA gets weirdly wholesome for more than two episodes.
i wanna know what happened with hawks and tokoyami
It happens.
woods seems cool
I like how the first three pros you see in the series just stick around.
i like hawks, favourite hero. maybe one of the favourite characters. he's really cool (i am not surprised about the fanfics, i would be searching for them when i finish, but scared of spoilers. also why are him and dabi shipped? (dont tell me))
Once you get to s5 I'll share something that narrows it down quite clearly. But essentially and without spoilers? SeXuAl TeNsIoN or something like that.
is endevour actually on fire? like, is his fire real. do people get burnt by touching him? why are there people so near him?
Don't think too deeply about Quirks. There's a logical explanation behind most of them seeing as they're meant to be the next stage of human evolution but it makes my brain hurt when I try to think about it. A fic that explains it really well is this, but it has spoilers so wait until you're caught up for that.
okay, its official, tamkaki, eri and hawks are my favourites. tamaki, idk why, eri is so, so cute and hawks is fucking awesome
My siblings hate Hawks. I like him and understand his situation more because I actually read the undertones. He's also funny so that helps.
endevour is not allowed to be nice
It's weird right?
i think this whole villan biography is big, cause la'brava had one too, and i have heard of the libaration before (not sure where)
The Meta Liberation War is an autobiographical book with strong political content written by the Villain Destro.
todoroki has an older sister, and an older brother. i think he's the only one with a fire quirk though, could be wrong
Natsuo and Fuyumi
if the one on the left is todoroki, does that mean the white hair is something he got, and he wasn't born like that
If you look back at the sports festival, you see him there as well. He isn't Shoto, he's someone else.
mha s4 ep 15-24 ( @maidofdarkness23
i feel like i should say, when i say i ship something, i dont always mean it is a serious way, sometimes its just cause its funny
Ep 15 whats with everyone in the intro and musical instruments? and aizawa being sad in a feild, before he was just sitting there now he's holding something
this is it, also it says neko, who's neko? maybe i'm looking at this too hard, but it feels important
miriyo! he's really nice, and positive about the whole ari/losing quirk thing
whats with todoroki and his phone?
Ep 16 *endeavour and almighty are next to eachother" some guy: are you guys seeing.. me: each other? guy:this! anyway, new ship just dropped endevor/almight (300+ ao3 works)
their opportunity are literal children and they are losing. L (I would have done better)
mic no. dunno what's he's going to do but no okay, so he's just sitting there saying nonsense for now
this is so funny. the children are ruthless
i think one of the kids have an inteligence quirk, no way he's natrually that mature.
okay, y'know what, almight/endevour could work out, like, actually, as friends at least
"my name is not 5 weenies" i could never say that with a straight face
todoroki, that will not work, i'm calling it I WAS RIGHT
"present mic's bad at his job, so now i'm doing it to"
Episode 17
they have the chance to be very badass and I am here for it (it's against pre schooners but hey)
telling people to shut up in the nicest way possible
endeavour and todoroki sure have a Relationship
"the equation isnt that difficult to solve" the equation:
i think, thats calculus or something
also ectoplasm is a maths teacher
frenchboy feeding midoriya is so funny
WAIT IS FRENCHBOY THE TRAITOR (his names Oyama or aiyama I think, ill check later)
i am concerned, he looks like hes planning to kill deku
oh no, not cheese
wonder what oyama knows, deku's only big secret is afo, but I don't think it's that
okay, so he didn't know anything weird, feel like it's more than that though
so all that was to make them friends? weird but OK
ep 18
the "normal school stuff!" though
loving all these suggestions, it's funny. my favourite is petting zoo, will re-watch this scene again maybe, currently one of my favourite scenes
todoroki doesn't know what a concert is
i love Eri, she's adorable.
ERI DOESNT KNOW SMILING, WHAT
new ship: eri/miriyo (cackling and dying while writing, i hate the fact i thought of it but eri litterally asked if they were going on a date, i do not codone shipping this, i think they have brother/sister type thing)
mha YouTube is called Yap!tube
gentle and his assistant are so goofy wth
ep 19
i know afo but who are the other 2? destro and purist thief. are they important?
ngl those general studies kids are based.
gentle has big "all bark no bite" vibes
holy shit jiro's good
"my fingers won't reach cause of my character design" loving the 4th wall break
i love thus arc, everyone is so silly
also tokoyami can play guitar, and mineta is so childish
eri! she has a dress now
Ep 20
i hope its the actual festival
miriyo no also Eri!
nezu has done exactly one good thing, which is letting eri come
just wanna laugh at this for a second
nezu, why is your hand up, why is your mouth a triangle, why is you evil vibes
ERI TOUR, LETS GO, i love her
shes ugly, i dont like her eyelashs, and hair, and the rest of her.
tamaki!
Nezu why do you eat like that
deku, if i was you i'd have died like, 5 seconds ago from embarsment
gentle will break into the festival and vlog it
loving the family dynamic la'brava and gental have going on
Ep 21
i have concerns regarding hownd dog
midoriya going right next to the placr where gentle is going, love this forshadowing
"rope is a specialty item" i'm pretty sure i can go to the petrol station near my house and get rope.
HE LOOKS OLDER, WHAT
funny number, heh
betting hound-dog is gonna come
Ep 22
deku, did not, infact have time
eri!
the yayorozu chant might just be how i remember her name
ERI SMILE, AJFHDJWNSDNM (i would die for her)
that performance is so cool
"romeo, the ghost of azkaban" GANDALF TOO "i am your true father" (luke, i am your father) Ah, yes, so original
eri's little recap of the show, though, can we just think of that
okay, eri's my favourite, then tamaki
why is bakugo melting the ice? what happened to todoroki?
kirashima and steel-guy seem like they'd be besties
"people are animals" -tamaki amajiki
CEMENTOS JUICE CUP
nejire won
ERI HAS A CANDY APPLE
Ep 23
ERI'S LIVING IN UA AOIDHSQKWDHNSBXJKOQANXFDSCS
ERI'S LIVING IN UA
MORE ERI!!
Aizawa, your mean who's the visitors?
i wanna know what happened with hawks and tokoyami
the pussy cats are here. why
the recent rankings are almight, endevour and hawks i need to know more about hawks, i have seen so many fanfics about him (havent read any yet) so now i'm curious
number 8's a fucking washing mashine. how
woods seems cool
edgeshot is a cool name
best jeanist has a cool quirk
i think i like hawks i like hawks, favourite hero. maybe one of the favourite characters. he's really cool (i am not surprised about the fanfics, i would be searching for them when i finish, but scared of spoilers. also why are him and dabi shipped? (dont tell me))
is endevour actually on fire? like, is his fire real. do people get burnt by touching him? why are there people so near him?
hawks just stabbing him with feathers.
okay, its official, tamkaki, eri and hawks are my favourites. tamaki, idk why, eri is so, so cute and hawks is fucking awesome
endevour is not allowed to be nice
i think this whole villan biography is big, cause la'brava had one too, and i have heard of the libaration before (not sure where)
villan attacked them, nomu i think
Ep 24
VILLAN FIGHT??
todoroki has an older sister, and an older brother. i think he's the only one with a fire quirk though, could be wrong
pretty sure hero's shouldnt destroy buildingd
hawks is so funny
intelligent nomu
if the one on the left is todoroki, does that mean the white hair is something he got, and he wasn't born like that
:0 did endevour just... die? no, he'a alive
this scene reminds me of the ending of the game "we become what we behold"
endevour litterally just went "gotta go fast" like sonic
bit with the feathers and endevour reminds me of a pheonix

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 3 (2020)
**SPOILERS**
Ok, I have already completed the season, but I'm still gonna break it down episode by episode and give my thoughts during in retrospect. If you have not seen Parts 1 or 2, I recommend you start there.
Chapter 21: The Hellbound Heart
So, Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) is trying to get Nick Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood) back out of hell and separated from Lucifer (Luke Cook). If you had forgotten, during part 2 Sabrina found out that Lucifer Morningstar was her biological father, and they trapped Lucifer inside of Nick. She enlists Roz (Jaz Sinclair), Harvey (Ross Lynch), and Theo (Lachlan Watson) to help. Besides the fact that their all besties, I have no idea what help Harvey or Theo would be. Theo is at least loyal and listens to reason. Harvey just goes off all the time. Roz is the most useful with her "cunning." Anyway. Before they figure out how to get to Hell, Mrs. Wardwell (Michelle Gomez) comes back to Baxter High with a new obsession with Dante's Inferno. But she's not possessed by Lilith (Michelle Gomez) anymore; Lilith is too busy defending her title as Queen of Hell. Also, props to Michelle Gomez. She flawlessly played two very different characters this season. Meanwhile, Zelda (Miranda Otto) and Hilda (Lucy Davis) are trying to save the coven because their powers are all fading. They aren't sure what to do with the remaining students or what to tell them. All of their powers are a gift from Lucifer, but he's not really in the position (or the mood) to be giving them any powers. Down in New Orleans, Ambrose (Chance Perdomo) and Prudence (Tati Gabrielle) are on their mission to find her father. When they come up short, they turn to Voodoo Priestess Mambo Marie (Skye P. Marshall) to help them with a different kind of magic. Dorian Gray (Jedidiah Goodacre -that is quite a name-) helps Sabrina and friends to get into Hell as long as they bring him a magic flower. They go in without any real plan, as you do. Seriously. Not even a map. Wtf. Luckily, they walked into the Shores of Sorrow and met Caliban (Sam Corlett), who told them to follow the river of blood because "all blood leads to Pandemonium." That's the capitol city of Hell I guess? They have lots of fun on the way, and when they get there, Lilith says that Sabrina has to deal with the Kings of Hell for her, but Lucifer tells Sabrina that she has to take the throne for herself. It has to be a Morningstar. Well, she does, but the Kings aren't convinced. Then our friend Caliban shows up again, naming himself Prince of Hell, and challenging Sabrina for the throne. It is worth noting that Caliban is ridiculously hot. And generally shirtless. Sabrina accepts the throne to get Nick out of Hell. Which is problematic for a lot of reasons, but most of all that she decides to do this BEFORE separating him from Lucifer. So she's just gonna keep Nick/Lucifer tied up in the dungeon until she finds another flesh acheron to hold Lucifer. What could go wrong?
I really expected it to take longer for Sabrina to get to Nick, but considering the very twisted maze part 3 went down, getting to Pandemonium is pretty minor. Also, Sabrina's whole "I'ma do what I want and not tell my aunts so they don't stop me" is getting old.
Chapter 22: Drag Me to Hell
This one is a little less convoluted. Sabrina finds out that one of her duties as Queen is to drag souls to Hell. Specifically souls who have made a deal with the devil. We can infer from this that the only people who go to Hell are those who have sold their soul, so it would be far easier to not go there than some people in the real world would have me believe. The first soul, a cute old man who wanted to be chess Grand Champion, Sabrina decided to show mercy and sent him to heaven. Didn't go over super well with the Kings of Hell. Also, Sabrina is now a cheerleader at Baxter High. They call themselves the Ravenettes. There's a dance team from my high school called the Raiderettes, so that confused me for a sec. Lots more singing pop songs then actual cheers though. Reminds me of the Jailhouse Rock scene in Riverdale. I digress. Zelda has decided to reopen the academy and that she and Hilda were going to teach. Hilda was more voluntold. Agatha (Adeline Rudolph) doesn't really respond well. Prudence and Ambrose discover that Father Blackwood (Richard Coyle) is in Loch Ness, which is apparently super magical and can bend time and space? Idk, but I was highly disappointed that we didn't see Nessie. They see him at the very end of the episode looking like Mr. Bean at the end of the live action Scooby-Doo movie. They take him back to Greendale and use him to hold Lucifer so Nick can be free. Because what the world needs is Blackwood and Lucifer together. Back to Brina. Her second soul to collect (apparently this is a daily task for the ruler of Hell but she only does these two so there's a plot hole) is the ice cream man, Jimmy Platt (Matty Finochio). He tells her that he would like to extend his contract again by eating the heart of an innocent child. Sabrina confronts Lucifer about this later, apparently it didn't have to be a child, just an innocent soul. Adult virgins, beware. Sabrina tells Jimmy no (obvi) but Jimmy has already hidden the kid. So now she has to find this kid and collect his soul before the end of the day or there will be a coup in Hell. Sabrina wisely decides on just Roz to help her with this one. Roz is also the one who warns Sabrina against transporting herself into a freezer with no more information, but as per usual Sabrina goes anyway. Jimmy put warding sigils on the walls, so she's stuck and powerless. Luckily, Lilith knows what the fuck she's doing (as opposed to Sabrina who only thinks she does) and saves Sabrina. Sabrina takes Jimmy to Hell, but nobody is impressed. Caliban officially challenges her to find the unholy regalia- the three most powerful infernal objects, starting with Herod's crown.
This is a pretty typical Sabrina episode- she's way in over her head, but she either doesn't realize it or won't admit it. I'm never quite sure, but it seems like she genuinely doesn't know. I also don't remember if it's this episode or the next, but Harvey is suddenly feeling under a lot of pressure to have sex with Roz. But it never shows Roz being pushy about it, so idk wtf is going on in Harvey's head (besides convincing himself he's over Sabrina).
Chapter 23: Heavy is the Crown
For this one, Sabrina enlists Ambrose to help her find the crown because Ambrose is the most well read warlock ever due to his permanent house arrest. It's in Riverdale. They use a special compass to find it in a maple tree that the Blossom's use for syrup. If you've seen Riverdale, this probably has more significance and is less surprising. They steal the crown (somehow without realizing zombie King Herod is still in the tree). Sabrina wants to destroy it, but Ambrose wants to tap into its power to help the coven. Unsurprisingly, this does not work out well for them initially because Herod follows the crown and would very much like it back. Zelda is failing at getting respect from the students at the academy, and there's weird Lucifer beetles crawling in ears and controlling people. In other news, a carnival came to town! Obviously this has something to do with the larger plot because otherwise it would be a side note. Harvey, Roz, Sabrina, Nick, and Theo are all going together. Theo wants to invite the new guy, Robin (Jonathan Whitesell), because Theo is crushing hard. Robin is nerdy cute, I guess. I did think it was cliche to give the queer guy green streaks in his hair though. Harvey says tells Theo to invite him as part of the group, which Theo does, and Robin agrees. They all go to the carnival: Roz, Sabrina, and Theo ignorantly happy, Harvey struggling with his masculinity, Nick struggling with his ordeal, and Robin just happy to be there. Roz "sees" the carnival ringmaster as a satyr (or a faun depending on your preference for Greek or Roman deities, but they do tend to prefer Greek in this show), but she decides she was imagining things. Mrs. Wardwell talks to the fortune teller Circe (Lucie Guest) to try to find out what happened to her during the three months that Lilith was using her "skin suit." She doesn't get any concrete answers because that's not how fortune tellers work, Mary. Harvey stumbles across a snake charmer dancer woman in a tent full of pervy dudes and is almost entranced. Hilda goes to the carnival with her bf Dr. C, who proposes. Idk why she needed to throw her cotton candy on the ground during that, but I'm also on a sugar detox, so... Prudence and Ambrose are cleaning up Blackwood's mess by putting a living doll spell on Judas and Judith to hide them and putting his weird time warping monster fish egg thing in a fish tank. Yeah. No Nessie, but a weird egg. It's fine, I'm not bitter. Back at the carnival, Sabrina and Nick get attacked by Herod (who stole his crown back from Ambrose but knows it was Sabrina stealing it initially). Ambrose saves them, but Caliban pops in, steals the crown, and wins the first round of the challenge. At the very end, we find out why the carnies are important: they're pagans who worship the old gods and trying to resurrect The Green Man to rid the world of flesh since the Satanic witches have all but lost their powers. There is more than one voodoo practitioner, idk why they're not considered more of a threat because they're much more independently magical. They need a virgin to complete the rebirth, and that's why Robin (dun dun dun) was hanging out at the high school. Our potential virgins are Theo, Harvey, and Mrs. Wardwell.
I chose not to believe that Robin was actually bad because I want Theo to be happy. I chose to believe that even if he was using Theo, Robin was just trying to take his virginity to prevent him from being the sacrifice. Also, Sabrina is basically trying to force Nick to be normal even though she compared his symptoms to PTSD. Girl stop. He needs a sec.
Chapter 24: The Hare Moon
Zelda and Hilda have decided that the coven needs to celebrate the hare moon for the coming of spring to bolster good will. Sabrina isn't enthused (maybe because it requires her singing a song of summer into the forest to release a rabbit). Lilith tells Sabrina that they need celestial power to restore their strength, so she goes to Dorian, who has an angel trapped in one of his paintings (as all art collectors do). Sabrina drains some blood from the angel for her coven, but leaves in the process because she hears some screaming. Then she stumbles upon Nick and some sex demons doing BDSM. She's less than thrilled, especially since Nick low-key blames her for it. And Dorian has drank 90% of the angel blood, but they can't take anymore with killing him. So Hilda suggests using the little blood to make an oil mixture and take a moon bath under the hare moon (rub oils all over your skin and lie outside under the full moon) to absorb the celestial energy from the moon. During the daytime ceremony, they meet the pagans. Things don't go well. Zelda makes a bunch of petty insults, Hilda pisses off Circe, and Nick kills me the snake that bit Dorcas (Abigail Cowen). Circe puts a curse on Hilda to become a spider, and

“I Love You.” “I Know.”
~Summary: Logan can't believe Patton hasn't seen any of the Star Wars movies, so he decides they're going to binge them all. Feelings are accidentally revealed, and cuteness ensues. ~A/N: I made this in one day after hearing about @tinysidestrashcaptain 's birthday! I hope I did well on this fic as I am currently a little under the weather. Read it on AO3 ~Ship(s): Logicality ~Rating: G Warnings: None Word Count: 2099 ~Tag List: @artisticlnsomniac @insert-epic-blogger-name-here @juni-raptor @mythicalquill @screamingoutinrage @frigglishsprite413 @notveryglittery
The coffee maker slowly filled Logan's Stormtrooper mug. He'd woken up a few minutes ago and hadn't even dressed properly. He was clad in a Star Wars T-shirt, pajama pants with tiny R2-D2's printed on them, and fuzzy Chewbacca house slippers. Typically, Logan wouldn't wear such... unusual attire outside of his room, but today was special, today was May the 4th.
Patton walked into the kitchen wearing a shirt with a kitten, paw-print pajama pants, and fuzzy unicorn house slippers. "Morning, Lo!" He smiled, flushing slightly at seeing the other dressed so casually, "I like your PJs!"
"Thank you, Patton, May the 4th be with you," Logan greeted.
"Huh?" Patton looked confused.
"It's a play on 'may the force be with you'," Logan stated plainly.
"Ooh, this is one of those Star Wars things, right? Also, I love that you're participating in a pun holiday, Logan!"
Logan sighed slightly, smiling unnoticeably. Ever since he'd began to develop a crush on the fatherly trait he found himself enjoying puns more and more, "Puns aside, Patton... have you,, seen the Star Wars movies?"
Patton thought for a moment, "I don't think so, I just never got around to it."
Logan's jaw dropped, "Never?"
Patton shrugged, "Guess not."
"Patton, I will not stand for this."
"Then maybe you should take a seat!"
Logan rolled his eyes with a hint of a fondness, "You know what? I will take a seat... with you, in my room, with all 6 of the Star Wars movies."
Patton smiled at the idea of spending more time with Logan, "I thought there were 9 movies though?"
"We don't count the prequels, and the new movies are good, no matter what others say, including Rogue One."
Patton chuckled at how passionate Logan was on the subject, "Alright, Han SoLo... GAN!" Patton laughed at his own joke.
Patton's pun combined with his outburst of laughter made a blush spread across Logan's face. He couldn't help how flustered he got when Patton looked so adorable, but he willed himself to hide the pinkness.
~*~
After they ate breakfast together, popcorn was made, and they settled into the comfort of Logan's Star-Wars themed bedsheets. They sat under the covers, not quite snuggled together, but with their legs touching.
As they observed the previews for movies long-since released, Patton spoke up, "I'm glad you're introducing me to these movies, Logan!" he beamed at the other.
Fortunately when Logan blushed from Patton's adorable smile, it was mostly hidden by the dimmed lights and drawn blinds (for the movie theatre effect), "Of course, I'm a fan of the movies and I feel that you will enjoy them too."
"I'm just glad you're here to watch them with me! That way I don't have to watch them... solo!" Patton laughed again.
Logan threw his head back in mock annoyance, but in truth, he was trying to hide the smile that crept onto his face from Patton's humor.
"You sure do like Han Solo, don't you? You've already made two puns about him and you haven't even seen the movies yet," Logan pointed out, amused.
"Well, Harrison Ford is such a sweetheart and he's just so cute! Who's your favorite character, Lo?"
"While I appreciate each character's importance to the series, I'd have to say my favorite is Princess Leia. She's royalty, she kicks butt when she fights, her ambition is admirable, she's incredibly intelligent, and she knows how to get what she wants. I could write a whole essay about the reasons why I love her- and Carrie Fisher, may she rest in peace."
Patton nodded sympathetically, remembering the loss of our princess, Carrie Fisher, "Well, maybe I can be the Patton Leia to your Han SoLogan!" Patton smiled, trying to lighten the mood.
Logan blushed at the romantic implication, "Um,, yes. I believe I would like that very much," Logan couldn't help but smile, could his crush actually want to be in a relationship with him?
Patton giggled, "Yay! I still don't know that much about the movies, but from what I've seen they're such good besties! And I'm glad you want us to be besties like they are!" he smiled and focused his attention on the tv screen, still showing previews.
Logan's face reddened, it appeared Patton was not trying to start a romantic relationship with him, and Logan had just implied he would like to. Oh no. What would Patton think when he sees that Han Solo and Princess Leia are a couple? How would he react? Surely he would figure out Logan has a crush on him, would he still want to be friends after that?
Logan realized panicking was helping nothing, so he tried to take his mind off the subject and simply focus on the time he had left with Patton as friends before his feelings for the other were exposed.
The previews soon ended, and the sounds of the iconic theme filled Logan’s ears and calmed him, distracting from his worries.
~*~
By the time the kiss scene between Han and Leia arrived, Logan had forgotten about revealing his feelings, but the scene served as an unfriendly reminder, sending panic through his veins. Cautiously, he looked over at Patton, expecting the sight of him discomforted and awkward with the romantic development between Han and Leia being compared to his and Logan's friendship.
However, Patton was grinning at the screen and squealing, "Awww! That's so cute!!!"
Oh, thank goodness, Logan thought, he seems to have forgotten all about what I said earlier. He let out a breath, not noticeable to Patton though, and attempted to relax.
Though Logan wouldn't admit it to himself, he was slightly... disappointed. He hoped perhaps Patton would return his feelings and admire the unintentional Star-Wars related love confession, but he supposed it was for the best Patton didn't remember, helping him to avoid any possible heartbreak.
Logan shook his head subtly, pulling himself out of his thoughts and back to the movie.
~*~
Eventually came the scene where Leia kisses Luke, which greatly confused Patton, "I thought Leia liked Han? Why did she kiss Luke?"
"I believe it was to simply make Han jealous, I try not to read too much into the 'love triangle' some fans believe exist between Luke, Han, and Leia."
"Oh, okay," Patton turned his attention back to the screen, "Well don't spoil anything, but I hope Han and Leia get together! They'd be so cute!!!" Patton sighed dreamily.
Logan's face flushed again, not doing anything to acknowledge Patton's comment, both not to spoil anything and not to draw attention to how much he was blushing.
If Patton wanted Leia and Han to become a couple, did that mean he wanted he and Logan to become a couple? Logan had technically said he would like to be the "Han SoLogan" to Patton's "Patton Leia," so Patton knew Logan wasn't uncomfortable with the idea, but is this really what Patton meant?
Once again, Logan focused on the movie to distract himself from his own internal conflict.
~*~
"I love you."
"I know."
Tears spilled from Patton's eyes as the pair exchanged their last words before Han Solo was frozen in carbonite. Patton sobbed silently and leaned into Logan's chest.
Logan was slightly surprised at Patton's actions, but wrapped an arm around Patton nonetheless, attempting to comfort him.
Upon feeling Logan's embrace, Patton wrapped his arms around Logan's torso, burying his head further into Logan's chest and crying.
Though Logan was inexperienced with affection, he attempted to gently rub Patton's back, hoping this would calm him, he assumed it was working from the way Patton had stopped crying slightly and leaned into Logan's touch, smiling through tears as he was held in Logan's arm.
Logan was blushing madly, but grateful Patton couldn't see his face. He continued to hold Patton in his arms for as long as Patton seemed to be content.
Logan's mind raced as he tried to determine what this meant, Patton had initiated physical contact with him, (which is one of the 5 love languages, particularly one that Patton seemed to enjoy) and when Logan returned the physical touch, Patton encouraged him with non-verbal cues; moving closer.
So far everything seemed to be going well, but this wasn’t enough evidence for Logan to draw a clear conclusion. Rather than thinking about it over and over, Logan decided it’d be best to, once again, focus on the movie.
~*~
Leia and Han had just kissed after Leia explained she and Luke were siblings, and that she loved Han, and Patton, still cuddled close to Logan in his protective hold, squealed in delight, “That’s so sweet! They ended up together!!”
Logan blushed further, wrapping his arms around Patton slightly more as he was closer to him now. He glanced over at the clock, and upon seeing it was nearly noon, spoke up, “Patton, perhaps after this episode is over we should take a lunch break so that we can discuss,, um, the movies... together.”
Patton made a hum of agreement, “Sounds great, Lo!” he snuggled closer to the other trait, and the blush deepened on Logan’s face.
Logan began to mull over whether or not to bring up the subject of their friendship being compared to Princess Leia and Han Solo’s relationship during their marathon break. Eventually though, he decided it would be best to talk about it, rather than leaving the subject ignored and his questions unanswered forever, so for the rest of the movie, Logan thought about how to approach the subject, what he should say to Patton, what the chances were of him being rejected, and how to deal with the heartbreak.
~*~
When the movie finally ended, Patton smiled, sighing contently and lying his head on Logan’s chest, “Those were awesome, Lo! Thank you so much for introducing me to them! I can’t wait to see the rest!”
Logan chuckled, “Indeed,” his face was heating further from Patton’s new closeness, not that it was unwelcome.
Logan took a breath to steady himself, “Patton, I...” he trailed off, sure of what he had planned in his mind, but too nervous to say his words quite yet.
“Yeah?” Patton curiously asked.
“Um... perhaps we should make ourselves some lunch now,” Logan proceeded, removing his arm from its place around Patton and moving off the bed quickly.
Logan’s quick movements caused Patton to flop against the mattress, as he was practically lying on Logan. “Oh, yeah. Alrighty! Let’s go get us some food,” Patton smiled, covering up the slight disappointment he felt at no longer being held in Logan’s arms, cradled closely against his chest.
~*~
As they ate they discussed the movies Patton had seen so far, and their conversation continued back in Logan’s room as they sat across from each other on Logan’s bed, “Which non-human character was your favorite?”
“Oooh, that’s tough, I’d have to say Chewie ‘cause he’s just so cute and huggable!”
Logan nodded in agreement, “I admire his battle tactics and his loyalty to Han Solo," Logan paused, seeing his opportunity, "And um,, speaking of Han Solo...”
“Yeah?” Patton gazed at Logan with kind eyes.
“Um,, before the movies, you mentioned that... well, rather, you offered to be the, um, ‘Patton Leia’ to my ‘Han SoLogan,’ and,, I agreed,” Logan started, fidgeting nervously with his hands. “But, at the time you said this, you were under the impression their relationship was entirely platonic, and um, well, now that you’ve seen the movies and uh, know that their relationship was romantic...,” he sighed, “Uh, I suppose what I’m trying to say is...” Logan looked into Patton’s eyes with a glimmer of hope, overshadowed by fear, “Do you... still want me to be your,, Han SoLogan?”
A huge grin burst across Patton’s pink face as he eagerly nodded his head, “I would love for you to be my Han SoLogan!”
Logan let out a sigh of relief, grinning uncontrollably, “I’m happy to hear that Patton,” Logan hesitated for a moment before opening his arms, offering Patton a hug.
Patton’s eyes lit up before he tackle-hugged Logan, causing him to fall back onto his mattress. Patton shuffled so he was lying on top of Logan, arms wrapped around his neck as he nuzzled Logan’s chin, sighing contently.
After getting over the initial shock from the hug, Logan wrapped his arms around Patton’s torso, holding him protectively against his chest, smiling. Logan let the comfortable silence settle in around them before he spoke again, “Hey, Patton Leia?”
A soft giggle from Patton, “Yes, Han SoLogan?”
“I love you.”
Patton grinned again before replying, “I know.”

Yoooooo talk to me about your anger at ATWT cause it's been years and I'm still hella bitter.
oh, man, anon. you’re opening a can of worms here. i am always happy to talk about this, and as for being hella bitter? hard same.
ok ok so.
essay time.
luke snyder was such a perfect soap character and i loved him with all my soap-loving heart. he was lovely and flawed and - the greatest soap trait of all - interesting. he was a legacy character, had all that wonderful backstory via his parents alone, and became an alcoholic before he was even twenty. i just– i’m gearing up for a rewatch just talking about it because, yeah.
so obviously luke/noah started and i was absolutely here for it at the time (though maddie was actually my favourite) and it was a long road full of ups and downs.
and i really did love noah most of the time in those early years. van and jake’s friendship made their on-screen dynamic really great, and a lot of the time noah broke my heart with his struggle coming out, his daddy issues, and his desperate desire for a family (that, in itself, became a problem, and i could write essays on it).
but yeah.
i’m pretty sure the point of no return for me was, like most people, the ameera plot. which was honestly so bad i still can’t think about it without getting angry. noah had luke write his vows, like??? i just. words can’t do it justice.
(the only thing that plot ever gave us was luke/casey fake dating which i’ll always be grateful for.)
but at one point i had to stop watching.
all the things i hated about their relationship just built up and up and up, so by the time we had noah getting luke expelled for rigging a school election so a homophobic douchebag wouldn’t win because it was ‘the right thing to do’ even though he married a woman to get her a green card and lied to the federal government, by the time noah just kept telling luke he was wrong – he was wrong about noah’s professor hitting on noah, he was wrong about luke’s step-grandfather hitting on luke, he was wrong for drinking, how could he?, he was wrong for being luciano grimaldi, he was wrong, wrong, wrong – by the time noah started continuously punishing luke for being luke, i couldn’t do it anymore.
in hindsight, the emotional abuse is exhausting.
noah’s internalised homophobia and the way he takes it out on luke for years is just–
ouch, man.
we put ourselves through a lot for the in-between moments.
so, yeah, i took a step back, watched my other soaps, didn’t think about it too much (except that i thought about it all the time because luke snyder sticks with you). and then, at a random point, i thought ‘i’m going to catch up’. i put myself through a lot of bullshit (including omg the twins? i’d forgotten about that until now) and reached the point of the firework accident.
(again, blamed on luke. i’m getting a headache just thinking about it.)
AND THEN THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD HAPPENED:
enter reid oliver.
we didn’t even know then that luke/reid was remotely going to be a thing. there were rumours it was going to be noah/reid, of all things, but from the very first moment…
excuse me whilst i get emotional over here.
honestly the build up. enemies to friends to lovers is my thing, and boy oh boy.
firstly, van hansis has always been exceptional. he and chandler massey are two american soap actors i point to when i say we are truly blessed they decided to be on soaps when they’re so much more talented than their environment, and we got/get to see them daily for years (thanks, boys!).
and van never wavered in that, but i imagine even he was getting tired. and then he got to work against eric sheffer stevens and honestly, it was like a spark reignited. they worked so well opposite each other.
BUT YES, LUKE/REID.
can you believe all of that happened in, like, nine months? it was less than a year and yet it fully changed our lives and became an otp for life.
reid was everything noah wasn’t: he was blunt and rude and said what was on his mind. he didn’t require validation from other people and his respect had to be earned. he knew his own worth.
he was a breath of fresh air in an environment that had become stagnantly passive aggressive.
plus we got the slow burn of watching luke and reid accidentally fall for each other, and it was beautiful. “mr snyder” and “doctor oliver”. kill me.
they were so easy with each other. even before reid first kissed luke, their banter was on point, and they just drifted into each other’s personal space. even their arguments were glorious.
they were simply attracted to each other, and it came as a surprise to them both.
man, i love it.
so then the kiss happens and noah’s surgery, and luke slipping back into his old headspace, the one that put noah first in all things, and it didn’t matter that noah had broken up with him, didn’t matter than noah didn’t want him around, (didn’t matter that noah was apparently seeing someone else???), didn’t matter that none of it was his fault, he slid right back into his old role.
which was actually perfect, because it showed the juxtaposition between the two relationships wonderfully.
blah blah, luke and reid work it out and become the ultimate power couple, and could easily take over the whole world. luke learns what an adult relationship looks like (because lol let’s be honest, his parents never showed him), reid learns to let someone else in, and it’s beautiful.
for a moment, everything’s perfect.
AND THEN FUCKING CHRIS HAPPENED.
i’m still fuming. fucking chris hughes of all fucking people.
his history aside (and boy does he have one), they can paint reid and chris’ relationship as rivals who became friends all they want but a) no. and b) lol this is the same guy who casually walks in and outs reid to katie and henry with a smug smile??? sure, katie already knew because reid was never actually in the closet and they were beautiful besties, but henry didn’t! dick move, asshole.
all because reid’s smarter than him (shocker).
i just…i hate chris a lot, ok. which makes this even harder.
so we know the show’s ending. luke and reid are happy together, they’re open and honest and working towards a future, and it’s going so well. (somewhere in the background we know noah’s going to la to live out his handwavy filmmaker dreams.)
it’s going so well.
and then in the last fucking weeks of the fucking show they write the absolute bullshit that is reid going off to get chris a heart and being hit by a fucking train.
a train.
and then – and then – they give his heart to chris so chris can live his happy asshole life with katie who deserves so much better.
i just.
yeah.
yeah.
a classic case of ‘kill their gays’.
even if we don’t assume this is homophobic bullshit, it’s still fucking abysmal script writing. reid had just said “i love you” for the first time to luke, they were really something, and instead he dies in the shittiest manner possibly all for the happiness of a straight (asshole) legacy character.
bite me, as the world turns.
all i can say is, at least they didn’t try and shove luke/noah back down our throats in the last second.
i will never, ever be over it.
thank goodness for fandom doing as fandom does and saying “lol no we’re not having this crap” and ‘train? what train?’ becoming everyone’s motto.
i get that the show wanted to wrap itself up with a last big dramatic plot™ but of all the characters??? and all the choices???
yeah, no.
you fucked up, atwt.
(and the controversy afterwards? you know it.)
and there you go, anon. have a ranting essay from me. i could talk about any of these points in more detail for hours, honestly. i miss it a lot.
so, yeah, now i’m gonna go read a bunch of ‘train? what train?’ fic and cry a bit.
have a good weekend! 💖

They did not take well with being bossed and ordeed around like come common bitch. They have trouble setting boundaries from their past. They refuse to do the same here.
They definitely don't do well with people telling them what to do. And how to do it unless asked. They also don't like being given a fake choice.
And THEN HE THREATENED TO KILL THEM WHILE HE WAS GUARDING THE STAIRS to the attic.
THEY decided right then and there they were making it their life's mission to be an ass to him.
U can't tell them what to do!!! Get FUCKED!! THEY'LL DO WHAT THEY WANT!
Wants nothing to do with him, doesn't wanna help him or deal with him. Would ignore him if they could.
Mammon
Their bestie! Could tell he liked them right from the get go!
They knew he may be head empty but he has a heart of gold. And wants to protect him even from himself.
Will tease him for making dumb choices because they can.
Thinks of him like a younger brother!
Mischief buddies!!!
Levi:
First of all the fucking audacity, that this man had to call them a normie. Will not and has not forgetten that.
Is an extremely petty bitch and took that very personally.
Was ready to throw down to defend their nerdiness.
Dishonor on him, DISHONOR ON HIS COW.
Later became nerd/cosplay/gaming buddies.
Satan:
Was wary of him because of what lucifer said, but quickly dismissed that because they hated Lucifer. And what he said was dumb and they wanted to form their own opinion.
Realized he was a book worm and was very smart & fell head over heels for him gradually.
It was over when they found out he liked cats, art, movies, mysteries and pretty much everything nerdy.
Lives to talk about anything to do with books and loves to hear him talk about anything he's passionate about.
Will help him prank Lucifer. >:)
Asmo:
Instant dislike for him.
Made them super uncomfortable with the whole stare into the eyes thing.
Didnt help he literally indirectly almost got them killed by Henry 2.0
Didn't like him being all touchy feely and being a horn dog.
Still isn't fond of him but is okay with doing stuff with him as long as he doesn't make a pass at them.
Beel:
Best boi! Loves him and his humor. Was a bit worried he'd eat them in the start.
Quickly realized he would never do that when he let Luke stay with them and stood up yo lucifer about what happened to protect Luke and when BELPHIE got freed.
loves to go out to restaurants with him and cheer him on during his sports games.
Belphie
Instantaneously sus. This man was locked up in the attic. Did NOT TRUST HIM!
He Tried to trick them into thinking he was human!!! It was obvious he wasnt. Lied and tricked his way outta there.
There was a GOOD REASON HE WAS UP THERE!
Has not forgotten that he murdered them however realizes people make mistakes but it shouldn't be the cost of THEIR LIFE!
However doesn't hate him too much cuz he hates Lucifer too and he's actually pretty smart. Plus they do try to move past it for Beel.
Because they live him and he loves His brother.
And thats what my mc's first impressions were!!!
Hope y'all liked it!!!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS GAME: BROTHERS!
Thank you for the tag @undertaker-02! This was so fun to do! Honestly for Shio, the first impression is usually the one that sticks. So her feelings for most of them are the same as the first day!
This is the picrew used. You can use a different one if you want!
Lucifer
Scary dude. Very scary strict dude. Must avoid at all costs. Her absolute anti-type.
Doesn't mind helping him with chores but is literally uncomfortable staying in the same room as him, especially if there is noone else.
Mammon
Omg it's a tsundere! Luckily she is a tsundere translator and doesn't get affected by the things he says.
Loves how he's always upto nonsense and they bond over their fear of Lucifer. Best friend material definitely. Loves partying and going on drives with him.
Leviathan
Oh he's a shy one. Shio knows exactly how to handle the shy ones. Listen to them, indulge in their interests, don't impose on them and give them lots of space. Levi loves it.
Its so easy to bond with Levi over their mutual love for anime and games. Frequently falls asleep in his room watching anime together. Gives him endless cuddles.
Satan
Oh look. It's Shio's first crush in Devildom. Polite, helpful, smart as hell and...a mysterious aura. Also he loves books AND cats?! AND he hates Lucifer?! Sir, your hand in marriage please-
Best friends who act like they are dating. 10/10 would recommend. Is her favorite brother by a long shot. Hangs with him more than anyone else.
Asmodeus
OMFG instant best friends! He's so friendly and physically affectionate, Shio loves it. Yeah he's flirty as hell but she knows how to flirt back hard enough to fluster the Avatar of Lust.
Shio usually hates getting dressed up or even spending money on clothes. But loves it whenever Asmo dresses her up all pretty. Asmo is in charge of her whole wardrobe.
Beelzebub
Shio was a bit intimidated by him first but once he opened up, she was comfy. She works out with him and gushes over their favourite foods together.
Loves his vulnerable side. Sees him as an elder brother figure honestly. Carries emergency snacks for him always.
Belphegor
Made the mistake of trusting him once. Never again. Legit NEVER AGAIN. Tries to hold her peace for Beel's sake at first.
Usually she just gives him the cold shoulder but when he provokes too much, it turns into a physical fight. No she doesn't care if she dies. Satan and Beel have to seperate them always.
OOF This was so fun! Thank you for this! I'm thinking of doing one with the Dateables too!
Tagging: @fantasy-dating-sim-trash @offbrandmilk @12am-motivation @everlasting-elegy @min-rei @baalism and anyone else who wants to try!

Gilmore Girls
Gilmore Girls is better than everything else that’s out now, so let’s talk about it.
The show, still deservedly a favourite among very many, has a conspicuous and especial place in the lives of many a Gilly, this author no less. Having watched the now classic (non-sequentially) following its release, when I was just a few years shy of Rory, I returned to it in 2019 to watch it the whole way through, now a few years shy of Lorelai.
The difference in perspective, and all that which still resonates to boot, is astounding.
Somehow the ending wasn’t ruined for me, nor A Year in the Life which we’ll get to later. I’m far from the first guy to write about or fall madly in love with Gilmore Girls and if you’re not listening to Kevin T. Porter’s and Demi Adejuyigbe’s Gilmore Guys then you’re really missing out. Take these as the reflections of a most ardent fan who came to the show relatively afresh, did a Luke, went all in and found something that still sets a standard in scripting, character-building and female-driven storytelling, for which we are sorely lacking and still so grateful to Amy.
Spoilers herein for Gilmore Girls and A Year in the Life and, just so it’s out of the way; Jess, obviously. Dean quickly became a one-note boyfriend (who cheats), Logan (yes he did grow as a person) never near actively enough supported Rory in furthering her aspirations unlike others around her and Jess was the only partner who both held a candle to her intellectually and didn’t let Rory coast on her least forgiving qualities. I’m not counting Marty.
First thing’s first – story and plot. More often forgotten than not, they’re two different things. Gilmore Girls, as it was hurriedly pitch in a last ditch attempt to sell a show to the network, is about a mother and daughter who are more like best friends. Whenever it’s just the pair interacting the show was at its far and above best and never got tiring, not once, and was never as strong when Yale split them up or the revival, atypically and so consequentially, chose to see Rory and Lorelai apart for whole stretches.
Exceptionally cast, as good as Alexis Bledel was its Lauren Graham who ultimately drove the show and she never gets near enough credit for her nuanced portrayal of one of the most complex characters in modern television. Just look at the wordless despair, affection and resolve that passes across her eyes in the seconds before she steels herself for the proposal and season 5 cliff-hanger. Ask yourself how many performers can achieve such a range of emotion without dialogue in so few beats; there are few.
Significantly, mother and daughter besties are actually not what the show is about. What’s really going on is the tragedy of intergenerational disharmony as the mother who rejected her wealthy upbringing for a more regular life sees her daughter in turn rebel against her for the elite world she abandoned. With story and plot elements as strong as this, there was much to work with.
The spectre of a 16 year old Lorelai with a little bundle rocking up on the porch of the Independence Inn pleading for any job hangs over the show’s entire run. There’s been a fair few critiques over the years that Gilmore Girls is elitist or insular for its focus on small-town Connecticut which for many who haven’t been there can appear like a privileged haven.
Gilmore Girls is more accurately about a young woman and mother who didn’t get the support she needed from her family and set out to make a life where she wasn’t reliant on anyone but herself. The show, thankfully absent hackneyed flashbacks to supplement a narrative which didn’t need padding out, did however proffer us one glimpse into Lorelai’s early years establishing that Richard, amidst a great disdain for what was then very scandalous, insisted Lorelai marry the useless Christopher.
Anyone who thinks Lorelai’s circumstance or Rory’s for that matter reflects a privileged position needs to check it and on the matter of Connecticut there are many families who arrived there far from being a Richard or Emily, this author’s included; it being as diverse a place as the show’s myriad of characters suggests.
Now to Rory. Many (most) viewers were disappointed in the arc she undertakes and continues well into A Year in the Life. Yes it’s frustrating when you see characters you love take paths you’d rather they didn’t (those hoping for a happier end to Jaime’s story can relate) but her simply being on this trajectory as disappointing as it is isn’t a fair criticism of the show in and of itself and is one it has been unreasonably burdened with. For those who hate to see elitist Rory, it bears acknowledging the subtle parallel the series draws with Lorelai’s own (if more widely relatable) snobbery; think just how many times she judged or forewarned of someone simply for their being rich.
Those who were sad to not see Rory (or Lorelai) grow in key respects at least until the very end of season 7 point to this as a flaw in the series. This mistakes however the important distinction, one drawn as rarely as between story and plot, as regards character building and character growth. For the volumes we come to learn about Rory and Lorelai they conversely (and uncommonly for a character-driven series and moreover one of this length) don’t grow very much. We may not like it but hey, it’s a fact of life and often people don’t change, sometimes even after 10 years. It’s an unusual, dramatically refreshing theme befitting a drama and yes, Gilmore Girls is a drama. Like The West Wing given the volume of dialogue and hilarity it remains funnier than most comedies yet is still at the core a coming of age drama.
It is a nominally rare thing to see sustained character growth in this most distinct of series, later rendering Emily’s arc in the four most recent instalments all the more resonant. When Lorelai cautions Lane in season seven (the only era of the show when overwrought story beats infamously overtook character-driven drama) that she had best prepare for a circumstance where Lane’s children embrace the religiosity Lane rejected, it could fairly be highlighted as an unnecessary meta intrusion or an annoying ‘state the moral’ moment. It is however one of the only occasions emblematic of explicit character growth, coinciding as it happens with Rory having to contend with her most consequential instance of professional rejection. For being distinctive it resonated all the stronger in a series that would rather grow its characters and their world than the characters themselves; in modern terms a relatively novel and here welcomely idiosyncratic approach to storytelling emphasising bittersweet and very relatable aspects of our lives and interpersonal relationships.
The realm of Star’s Hollow being invested with a great deal more personality than most fictional settings, Lorelai and Rory’s narratives notably ground to a halt in Summer to see a musical tableaux of the town. If admittedly outstaying the welcome, it was a nice opportunity to say a farewell to the only significant character herein which didn’t get any dialogue. An affectionate ode throughout to small town life, it was well to remind us that every stop on the highway has a Taylor and Kirk, though rarely ones so lively and repeatedly entertaining; even if Kirk towards the end did go over the top.
Who never went over the top was Melissa McCarthy; it being a special pleasure to see her in pre-mega fame mode sharing her best moments alongside Yanic Truesdale, as well as a few hints at the more exaggerated roles she would later take on in some of Sookie’s most strident moments. The pop culture references were too a joy for any junkie; with the show (take note modern cinema) graciously never skipping whole beats to let one-liners or hark backs sink in, instead trusting that we’d get it or appreciate the resonance nonetheless.
This was conversely one of the flaws of A Year in the Life; but for allusions to Game of Thrones and a couple of other tidbits there wasn’t much acknowledgement in the scripting choices that this world had aged at all. There still being the ‘no cell phones’ sign in Luke’s after all these years, as fond a recall as it is, was just too much a stretch; on par with the infamous Game of Thrones-esque (yes Gilmore Girls did it first) roll credits moment when Rory delivers her manuscript.
For all its flaws and clustered cameos the addendums did however bring back Jason Stiles for a dignified farewell. A character very short-changed by his series’ conclusion (and lack thereof), when written out there was never a sense of closure like that proffered his contemporaries which fans indeed got ten years later.
And this brings us to the much touted ‘last four words.’ “Mum,” “Yes,” “I’m pregnant.”
It’s both a lacklustre and exceptional end in respects. Sure it would have had more of the intended resonance those ten years ago when Rory, mirroring Lorelai’s earlier experience, found herself at a stage of her life still yet to realise many of her goals that a newborn child would then and here implicitly affect. It still bears its impact but like much of A Year in the Life’s recurrent storytelling and character motifs it doesn’t resonate as desired and as it would have that era ago within a world and set of people who have now inevitably aged.
The theme and consequences of unplanned pregnancies has also already been widely explored in the series between the experiences of Lorelai, Christopher, Lane and, most unnecessarily, Luke. It’s far from improbable that any one or all of these figures, including Rory, would experience an unplanned pregnancy, yet when it came to introducing April the familiar story beats had already been well played out, as distinct from the more intimate and procedural arc with which Lane’s pregnancy is treated.
Rory’s announcement does however reflect the core theme of the series in children and parents, despite intentions and efforts made, replicating their forebear’s cycles. Despite it being foreshadowed that Logan is the father, he being evidently modelled on Christopher, here the show does not go for a bittersweet note but a heartfelt, cautionary one. As the series repeatedly reminds us, it’s far from unfortunate that children have similar experiences to their parents, or indeed that families continue to procreate. It’s just that, as when Rory dropped out of Yale, whatever happens in children’s lives may or very likely will still happen in spite of anything and everything a parent may want or try, and we’re all just along for the ride.
A Year in the Life’s highs and lows notwithstanding, it was well worth the hours to spend that much more time with our girls and loved ones (the most hilarious Paris’ return was probably the highlight) as it was over so many months and years. If you’re craving the qualities and depth that so much modern storytelling is so lacking, look no further.
